Right after Henry completes today’s errands for father, he is going to tell him that he doesn’t want to be a blacksmith. In fact, Henry has set up a business today. It’s called Henry’s weeding services and it’s earning him good coin…
Anyway, I ran a little test to see how playing a peaceful and god-fearing Henry goes. As a point of interest, it’s possible to reach level 13 herbalism in Skalitz alone. Nothing wrong with that I think, as it doesn’t give that much of a game advantage, plus it takes quite a bit of time and dedication to achieve.
However, the thing I’ve noticed is that upon returning to Skalitz to bury Henry’s parents, it is really hard to ensure that the bandits are defeated but kept alive. It took me three tries on average for each to ensure that he doesn’t die (since my new Henry doesn’t want to be a murderer). I wonder, how do others deal with it? Most of my blows with a decent blade such as Sir Radzig’s sword skip the surrendering bit of health and go right to death. I have tried switching to unarmed at the last minute, but that seems to quickly change the odds in the foe’s favour.
Personally, I would quite like to see a feature added to a game (like a key pressed during combat) that ensures that none of the following blows will be fatal. It would be realistic as this is something that is commonly taught in mediaeval fencing (smacking your opponent with the flat side of your blade to knock him out - or I guess just avoiding vital organs). What do you think?
I’m well aware that the devs have much more pressing issues to deal with at the moment, but I think that this is something worth discussing and seeing what others think.
