So my horse has a base speed of 42 (when I bought him) and now for some reason, it has dropped down to 1. I made sure he wasn’t overloaded and he still is stuck at 1. How do I fix it?
For anyone else who may experience this bug, I solved it by going to sleep then immediately reloading that save and it was fixed.

Thank god it was a bug at first I was like oh shit they updated the game to make the horses speed more realistic turning speed to 1 when I got to much weight on. Thanks so much for the fix!!!
Can confirm sleeping and reloading the save solves the bug with the horse. Thanks for the tip!
I got this bug when I rode to the edge of the map, parked the horse and then tried calling him from a few metres away. It was stuck at speed 1 no matter what. I tried running farther away so that it would teleport, but it wouldn’t help. In the end, I found a fix: Go back near the edge of the map, call the horse, mount it, ride towards the edge of the map and then ride away from the edge of the map until the speed returns to normal. I think what happens is that since the horse crosses the imaginary border without a rider, its speed doesn’t return, so it needs to do that crossing with a rider to fix it.
That is by far one of the more bizarre bugs that I have heard of and haven’t personally experienced, but thank you for the fix!
