Other than shooting a few arrows from my horse to fish some enemies I haven’t had too much luck fighting with a meele weapon from horseback. Normally I just unmount when I need to fight. I was expecting horse fighting to be similar to Mount & Blade.
Have any of you have succees fighting from your horse?
we knew that horse combat would be very simplistic, they had bigger plans but ultimately they did not work out. i didn’t have great expectations, however i think that they should have emphasized it more in advertising. as for quality of life improvements for horse combat, i would like to be able hold my weapon strike and release it at the right moment, some type of rudimentary blocking would also be nice.
I have found horseback fighting to be the most OP method of combat so far. Even on the grey Nag you receive at the beginning of the game, the ability to easily kite enemies by first running down their stamina to the point where they stand still and wait to die, then filling them with arrows is too easy. I was hoping to see armoured mounted combat at some point in the game but I guess I didn’t read up on what was to be expected. Unless you want to fly through every bandit camp mission with a breeze I suggest you handicap yourself by fighting on foot. Something I will say though is, exploration on horseback is very immersive and one of the better areas of the game.
Mount & Blade battles were awesome. Since I started playing KCD the past few weeks I’ve come to the conclusion I’ll inevitably play it again soon if only just for the large scale battles
