How does warhorse plan to adapt the rise of henry level (from the first game) to the sequel?

I mean … my character now has the skills already very high and is almost master in some skills … in the next game … as we can see the progesion of henry if right now he is a teacher.

And it would be a bit strange that for the next game henry would be a weakling again.

He will turn into a mech with x ray vision!

It’s an interesting problem. One of the ways I can imagine it going is if the DLCs ‘The adventures of Sir Hans Capon’ and ‘Band of Bastards’ finish off the Henry storyline, then dropping into a second storyline for the next game with a new character. Could be Henry’s son or a serf who Henry empathises with, since himself came from that lower class upbringing. Or it would be a totally new character and you might meet Henry along the road.

If Warhorse are sticking to a similar period and staying within Bohemia, or broadening more into the Holy Roman Empire, I can’t really see them abandoning the characters developed in this first game to start over completely.

What would be a really cool storyline is if Henry’s son was put into the service of a now wiser Hans Capon. Perhaps learning to become a squire while dreaming of adventure like his father went through. That would get him into all sorts of trouble and produce a very interesting and empathetic relationship between him and Hans Capon.

P.S. Warhorse, if you’d like another writer with a love for history and historical accuracy, please contact me. haha

The truth is that I think hans capon is a tremendous character and that if they give him a game, he can have a very good evolution … even so I would like to be able to avenge henry’s parents and solve all the plots that have left socks.

The problem that I pose … is that an evolution is necessary … it will have to be seen from what perspective they face it.

I think the best way for them to tie up the loose ends of getting back his sword and avenging his parents would be through a DLC, if I were to guess I would say the ‘Band of Bastards’ DLC. That way they wouldn’t have to figure a logical explanation for why Henry has forgotten all his skills, and lost all his stats, money, etc.

Otherwise the other option is leaving this avenger storyline and getting the sword back to another character. That character being a younger generation or some sort of related character.

If there are any other ways you can think of for Warhorse to explain away Henry forgetting everything I’d love to hear your ideas.

No DLC is supposed to expand main story.

They mentioned many times, their next game will be about Henry’s story. Still possible to play as another character.
But it would suck not take revenge and find sword since it is the main objective of game.
What might help reset Henry to weakling is if he had accident shortly after start and was in coma again, lol.

I really hope they don’t so some sort of handwave to make all your skills and items go away. I really like how my Henry looks right now…

And besides, it will be interesting to see how they build an RPG story where the character is already high level. Not all problems should be solvable by just fighting…

If it were not for this company looking for realism and immersion … henry’s memorialization would be a valid option … in the same way that it served the witcher with Gerald … an experienced character … although I have to say that his system of levels leaves much to be desired.

If the game takes place right after you set off with Capon when saying Henry is out of practice to justify losing his stats would be silly. It worked in Mass effect 2 cause you were in a coma but even then you got significant bonuses if you imported from Mass effect 1.

The Witcher was actually supper egregious and a perfect example of what I hope Warhorse will not do. A veteran Witcher like Geralt should not be starting at level 1, ever.

Do not mention Witcher, that story was written into the books and there was not much to avoid as to make story much different than they did in games. It was all within story reasons not that they just decided it would be fun, it actually happened in book.
I mean Sapkowski takes his interest off Witcher games and cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED. But I think developers of game made great games which made me want to read books.

I just wish they added importing of your Henry stats from last save game so it would make sense, but only if they ramped up the levels further than 20 so it would make sense that your Henry would need levelling up again because new world would require it. Let us say new opponents will be tougher.
I still do not feel like very strong fighter and if they added some new combat moves, it would only feel natural to progress for a reason, not just numb down your Henry to level 1 again. I would appreciate if they come up with something better than cliché, waking up and forgetting all he learned.
That is also what Gothic 4 did, they just slaughtered whole point of progression. They give you uninteresting character, shepherd or fisherman, and speaks of your previous character as madman, who always saved the world, such disappointment.

Hm… interesting quuestion. Few ideas:
accident (recovery)
bandits/cumans (recovery+no money, items)
long imprisonment (weak+no money, i…)
more difficult (what about money, items, combos, etc…?)

It all depends when in time KDC2 will take part. However it could be you are his son, a product of Theresa and Henry

Long story short: amnesia

There are still plenty of issues to work out in this version. Seriously, this could be one of the all time greats if not for the tech issues.

How to deal with money: In KCD2 we find out that all of our coins are forgeries made by the bandits

You will be ambushed during night by your own men who were all this time paid by Sigismund, and you will be captured until someone (Theresa) saves you and Hans Capon. Then they leave you in ragged clothes to walk the rest of road to see Otto. By the way I found some nasty things about him.

I agree with your idea. They could make you get captured with Capon on your travels and you spend a decent amount of time captured that makes you lose your good stats. That would make it a level playing field to start the game.
