Simple question really, games such as the CoD franchise and many others before the launch of the game allow you to both adjust your screen size and visibility. I ask because my compass is 95% hidden as well as anything in the bottom part of my HUD such as Henry’s health and stamina which to me makes my issue game breaking as well as annoying.
I love this game and WH does too, so I hope something like a screen size adjustment option is added or I’m afraid Im not gonna be able to play this game or drop more money on it
You mean HUD size adjustments and options for the visibility. Yes, this is what people ask for all the time, but WH seems to ignore it.
We don´t ignore it
Yeah that’s what I meant
They don’t ignore it I swear. I have really good background information (because I looked two messages up)
Thank you WH,
hopefully the next patch brings new options to customize the HUD completely. I mean transparency sliders for every single HUD elements like compass, health bars, pop-up symbols and the yellow dot!
… wouldnt that be great.
After a half year of waiting I moved my PC out of the loungeroom… (took too long for those features to make it into ‘launch window’)
So people have right to jest with WH about ‘not listening’. Surprised more comments here weren’t to that effect. (ie would be very hard for WH to implement the change, would take years of promising/planning and then ultimately patches which might make the option not work well on consoles (etc)…)
To be fair the OP might just need to play with the TV overscan settings. (Sceen size adjust maybe).
The games lack of configuration (brightness/HUD/crosshair etc) means they SHOULD display exactly the same/in same positions.
Either the poster is ‘zooming the screen’ via TV/monitor controls or the game resolution is mismatched to the monitor (my first two guesses)
Whilst that may be true; it isnt the public perception.
Unfortunately, ‘public perception’ is 9/10ths of ‘the law’.
KCD never looks right on my monitor unless it is in the native resolution (1920x1080).
Thats to do with a monitor setting. You have it set to display pixels at their native resolution. So wgen you set 1600×900 it makes the active area smaller…
You could display it stretched /scaled to full screen size.
(Running at lower resolution generally helps framerate)
(Set postprocessing to low, and other CPU heavy in game settings and you’d be flying)
If I go lower the view get squished tall and narrow or smaller. ( borderless)
Match the ratio, choose a lower screen res.
16:9 is typical ratio nowadays (not 4:3 or 16:10)
1920x1080 = 1280×720
With your vid card- I would then set quite a few settings to high.
Some webpages have done write ups.
Consensus was (on a beefy machine), 9 settings on very high/ultra has fairly low impact on framerate.
Whilst I dont believe they thoroughly tested (eg light is a heavy hitter at different times of day), many settings are not big CPU hitters. (Eg Post processing should be set low on borderline CPU rigs…)
You should have metgods to make 1280x720 res run in fullscreen mode.
When Crysis first launched it was considered impossible to run it in Ultra Quality.
It was actually very easy- if one was willing to lower resolution.
At the time 1280x720 was the top res on the consoles and seen as a ‘peasants resolution’.
Crysis on ultra at that res was doable on the 8800gts (a 320Mb version was a $300 card)
No, only change the HUD size is not enough! More important is a transparency option which makes it possible to hide single HUD elements completely if the player wants. You must not use it, if you want everything visible, but you can use it, if you don’t like HUD for more immersion.
didn’t help much in FPS. Still mid teens to single digits in Rattay, high teens to low 20’s in villages. 30-45 fast travel. still 20’s in forest combat.
Also 1280x720 BTW makes game screen 1/3 size in native resolution and full screen means I can’t move mouse from one screen to my other that I use to look up things and post.
As a console player, I love this game because it’s the only game in the market like this. I also understand that WH Studios is faced with limitations when it comes to the resources needed to continue improving this game. That being said, I am very patient because I believe in just how amazing this game is but, I hope HUD customization is somewhere high on the list of updates because sadly I won’t be able to play this game anymore due to my own financial limitations, as well as the limitations of my older, smaller TV. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post
