How much freedom

I’m curious as to how much freedom there will be in the game?
Some examples?
Can I go to a bar and start a bar fight?
Can i pull out my bow in a town and shoot a guy that annoys me?
Can I challenge other knights to duels?
Can I seduce the local ladies?
Can I buy my own house, castle or mansion that I can customize with my accomplishments( swords of my dead enemies, The head of a bear i hunted down etc.) ?
Can I ride around and make chaos? Get drunk? Join Arenas? Steal precious items from houses?

I think you get my question by now. What is the limit to the game?

Can i pull out my bow in a town and shoot a guy that annoys me? Yes, I do this every time I play the alpha.

Can I challenge other knights to duels? Unknown

Can I buy my own house, castle or mansion… ? No. As of whats been discussed so far you will have a home but properties with not be available for purchase. The option to decorate or customize your home has not been discussed as far as I’m aware.

Can I ride around and make chaos? Yes, but you will have to deal with an advanced reputation and law system on top of a complex combat mechanic so your rampages will need to be planned accordingly.

Get drunk? Honestly don’t but would not be shocked.

Steal precious items from houses? Yes, you can already steal in Alpha 0.3 (nothing of real value atm)

What is the limit to the game? Daniel Vávra’s imagination and the money in our wallets.

I suggest watching the Living World, as well as all of the other Video updates.

I did not answer a few of those because I didn’t know how to give an answer without being or feeding the trolls.

Thanks for the quick answer. If all you say is true im sure we will all have a blast. I know for me most of the fun is not the story in games, but rather being creative and making my own story in a sandbox game. I believe the best RPGs are sandboxes, and that’s what I want to know… is this a sanbox, like skyrim or GTA 5, or is it more limited?

I would say more open world then sandbox.

Skyrim and GTA5 are also open world, Sandbox games are more like minecraft where your capable of creating and destroying your environment and you are not presented with a set objective, and broader horizons of limitations.

the two terms have tendency to get lumped together.

All that being said Im positive if you like Skyrim, you will not after this game is completed.

As far as I know this game will be more open than Skyrim, you can see this in the much more complex minigames like alchemy and in the much better dialog options where you have more freedom of choice compared to Skyrim.
But there are also some restrictions, for example you can not buy an own house, the world is a little bit smaller than skyrim (but much more complex and detailed) and you can not choose your own character, you will play as Henry the son of a blacksmith or as a millers daughter in a kind of tutorial.

And yes, you probably will get drunk if you want. The developers think about a system where you can get drunk and addicted to alcohol.

A few additions to what @McWonderBeast said.

Yep, you can, but not every lady, just a few that will be probably related to the story. They said they don’t want it to be the common “get enough points to have sex with her”, but they want it more meanigful, so we will see.

Yep, they actually want pretty unique system. If you will be just mildly drunk, it will enhance your speaking ability and charisma, but if you are too drunk it will do the opposite. And if I remember correctly, they even mentioned hangovers and addiction if you drink too much.

Wow sounds like the alcohol system will be fantastic. Thanks for all the answers. I’ve tried to read all the info I can find, but sometimes I’d like to go more into detail, and understanding what the developers mean by different statements made about the game.
So please share more, interesting to get some info from people who have gathered more details about this fantastic game.
