For me, not so much.
Chased him to the inn, chase failed.
Talked and had to meet and duel, won the duel. He dropped his sword when losing, I picked it up.
Stole his plates in the night, he was left with chain and hauberk.
(figured that’s good enough to help me with in case he does, or easier to beat him if need be).
Asked his help later, he agrees, turns up without a weapon.
Doesn’t matter, when we teleport to near mine entrance he immediately starts running west away from mines, then veers south back towards sasau. Have to do all the fighting myself. Later he pops back up for a cutscene and agrees to leave to become a mercenary somewhere (Tried to talk him to come to work for Radzig, no luck).
So the quest didn’t totally bug out for me, but Ulrich was very disappointing.
Hoped and was looking forwards to storm the place together with him, but no luck.
