At the moment the french subtitles are not in the alpha enymore, because of the development process of the game. The subtitles should be back in the game again with the next update.

I’ve been able to change the game subtitles to the french language by modifying one line in the system.cfg file (In the game main folder) :
sys_languages = "pdg"
to
sys_languages = “french”
Don’t change the line g_language = “pdg” or you will have no more voices.
Right now there is more content in the alpha 0.5 than in the last 0.4 and this content is not translated yet, we do not know what will happen if you trip on the new content without the translations. It maybe even causes crashes, but probably there will be just no subtitles in this cases. So no guarantee about french or german subtiles in alpha 0.5
