All you have to do to skip the entire monastery quest. Before you go to the person to get the letter of admittance for the monastery. Wait until night and sneak through the door to the monastery by the side where the guard for the tunnels is. Then you will just sneak up into the sleeping quarters and kill the novices. Then you escape through the same door. In my run I did this but the monks heard me so I was put in jail for 10 days but it still worked.
another way to blast thru the game and miss out on some of what the game has to offer.
Ive just got to this quest but it’s starting to piss me off, I just want to explore but feel like I can’t do anything, also do the guys that throw u out just know if you’ve done setting wrong or they got to catch you ?
It’s poorly done but I don’t want to o skip any main story

i like the quest a lot, but it was not made correctly for the people who want to do what they want to do. If you kill pious he should have the item on him you need, or you should be able to pick his pocket for it. I was seriously disappointed in that fact. There is only 1 thing you need and the guy in the church tells you to bring it to him, GUESS WHAT DOESN’T EXIST. That is part of the story maybe, but still would have made like a lot easier for people who don’t want to experience the mission or are playing it for the 10th time. Also my complaint is the monastery doesn’t ever advance. So its a dead end really, none of the quests have any effect and you never get to be a monk no matter how long you play, very disappointing, as if you doing anything in there matters anyway, i see why people dodge it. Still i did really like living in the monastery though.
you don’t really need Pious die. My first time thru I didn’t get it ( forgot about it). I threw Pious in the slammer and went to meet the gang. I didn’t have the Die so a fight ensued and sadly ( for them) the died and I took THIER dice and still got into Vranik using their dice.
I had a lot of fun that time with console commanded zero conspicuness, unlock ALL the doors and stealing the place blind and doing the quests, and KO’ing the curcutors repeatedly and stealing their clothes.
Yep i had the same thing happen on my 3rd or 4th play through. It was very frustrating about the die though, very frustrating. It should have been a simple mission, instead you have to just fail it, and kill the guys, which is up and down if its tough. It seemed pretty horrific to me, although i think you get a speech check or you can bribe them. I paid them 3000 and they didn’t fight me, but i murdered them all in the woods and got my money back. Just pretty dark to do that.
Good news. 
In V1.6 You get the dice if you kill Pious. But only if you kill him! Knocking out is not enough.
In my Merciful run I talked to him at the beginning and knocked him out, open the door with the lockpick and carried him outside of the cloister. My horse “accidentally” hit him and I got the dice… 
Thats good news. wonder if you kill him in the monastery you get it.
