How to update correctly?

If I installed the game (for examle 1.4.1) with all DLCs and wants to apply a patch (for example 1.4.2), have I just to install the patch or must the updated DLCs for this version also be installed again?

Game 1.4.1
DLCs 1.4.1
Patch 1.4.2

Or

Game 1.4.1
DLCs 1.4.1
Patch 1.4.2
DLCs 1.4.2

gamebase + dlc + all following patches, i would say.
patches including fixes on dlc, not just on gamebase, normally

I dont want to make @text descr nugatory but…
Example with my latest version…

main game setup 1.4.1
Patch 1.4.2
DLC 1.4.2
A patch comes most time after the main game because patches are often a preparation for the DLC’s
And in gog cases and his version numbers, (file and game version) you need to install the DLC after the patch. Thats the reason why the DLC setup has the latest patch version number.
But maybe text’s descr is more proper and i am getting bugs or similiar due of wrong install order

In this case I always have to download and install the latest DLCs again.
But you forget that I have the DLCs 1.4.1 installed too, after the main game setup.

install first the patch 1.4.2 and then new downloaded dlc setup 1.4.2

I have already DLC 1.4.1 installed. The question is whether patch 1.4.2 is enough or in addition to that the new DLCs 1.4.2 must be also installed (over the old ones and after patch 1.4.2).
