How well/poorly has this game done?

Hey all, just am interested to know how well or badly this game has done?
I love the game and game on ps4pro and apart from texture pop ins which don’t bother me and a bug that the vagrant is stuck in the stocks in rattay making it unable to complete the activity he sent me on lol, the game has been fine so far, just got to uzhitz in the main story line.

My question is how well has this game done? I know they solf like 500k and broke even about 2 days in, but i have read alot of faggots complaining about bugs and saying they are going to refund or have refunded the game, which must hurt sales?

I want this studio to do really well and to continue growing and making games as this game is everything i ever wanted from a medieval game. And i personally like daniel vavra and his anti SJW, pro GG positions. So i am hoping they are able to make a very healthy profit on this game and continue building and moving forward like CDPR did.

We need more indie devs like warhorse and CDPR to give gamers true games not the pay to win fiasco we are getting from all the big publishers.

Game has beaten TW3 in most players online at once, daily and weekly playerbase (given that TW3 is also a fair bit older, however it still beat it by total players online in a single moment and that’s a milesone).

as i game on the ps4, i don’t really know what those steam numbers mean or how significant they are? TW3 sold like 10million copies right> that was alot for a dev like CDPR. I don’t see this game selling as many copies unfortunately but aslong as it makes a very healthy profit and the company can continue and grow that would be awesome.

It’s a singleplayer RPG so 95k aganist TW3 of 92k (I belive) is very nice indeed, given the fact that TW3 was awarded a fair bit of awards!
Numbers mean nothing except funds for future projects, they have that now, and probably something left from kickstarter so I wouldn’t be surprised if a new kingdom come or big dlc would come in a year/2 year time instead of 4.

looks good so far but i guess will have to wait a good while until we find numbers of units sold etc…
I don’t see this game winning many awards from the left wing wankers in gaming journalism with daniel vavras views lol.

I know this game is going down as one of my favorite games ever. That being said, still the Witcher 3 has my #1 spot. Hoping for free dlc or added things like blacksmithibf and buying houses and land and what not.

i get it being free for backers, but i personally would rather pay for it, i want this company to carry on making games, and i don’t think they are at the giving things away for free stage yet lol.

This isnt bad for a new game on steam, its the 4th highest played right now behind the likes of csgo, pubg etc.

As for the game, im waiting on putting a steam review up after they iron out more bugs. But my overall experience has been good. Whether it took a mod to enhance it or not.

Let’s not forget how Rome 2 wasn’t playable untill 2 years later, atleast KC:D is playable…

isn’t the point of playing on pc that you mod every game?

I am thinking this game may indeed win some GOTYS if they continue to iron out bugs. I love the Witcher series and this game is just as good in my opinion.

While i agree, you obviously don’t know much about the political scene with game journalists lol.

A game doesn’t need to win awards to be good, a good helpful community makes a game better than it already is, aswell as a sane community-development team relation and a stable source of information between the two; we just need to motivate them to keep working on their project, not even bankrupcy stopped them from their ideals when they were working on KC:D.

i would say its done quite well and the forecast is good for future of the franchise and company. it surely does vindicate vavra’s initial assertion that there is not only a market for this type of game, but that it can exceed the more popular staples of the genre, ie fantasy and magic.

i’m very happy for warhorse’s success, if only it just means there will be more kingdcom come goodness to come.

You little Italian weasel! What are you doing here!?

Well put. I raise my tankard of ale to you, good sir!

I see KCD as just the first part of a Kingdom Come: franchise, I’m hoping that we get some dlc that adds more story to the existing play area and also adds mayby a few more sq km to the play area, like another 2x2 or 4x4 area to expand the map. Then mayby the second full game in the franchise adds a whole new 16x16 km area that you can go back and forth to the original area, could work like moving between zones in TW3 perhaps. I love the world WH have crafted but what really excites me is seeing this as the the first iteration of an even larger more long term project. There’s so much potential for a medieval simulator sandbox here and it’s the sandbox more than the story that will keep people invested for thousands of hours. I hope the sandbox gets fleshed out a bit more, I’m happy that WH should at least have the funds to keep a roof over their heads for long enough to do that

Cry Engineer already has enough Problems with this size, i doubt the Map will be Made even bigger. Though additional Maps could Come, Prag would bei cool.

Well, I agree, but I’m banking on there being fewer problems with a few more patches, but it may well be the case that even with extra polish the engine just can’t handle a bigger play area, perhaps they could use it to stitch together some zones and expand the play area that way though.

It’s doing very well. Any gamer that has been around for years can already see this is the start of a long and successful franchise. People already want DLC and most haven’t even done 50% of the game yet haha.
