How will morality be addressed?

Please give me example of a real dilemmas that you have in mind.

Hard to think of a gripping moral dilemma off-hand, especially for in a realistic setting, I’m not a writer, but you can certainly see what I’m saying. Something like killing a deposed monarch’s child to prevent a war or something. Obviously such a big-scale choice would be impossible, but things of a similar nature, although lesser magnitude, would be.

Maybe like: You decide to not help an NPC who is introuble for some reason… because he did not help you when you asked for his help before?

Or you go kill a wounded soldier in the night because he know something that could get your Lord in trouble?

Or you let soldier rape a women because her husband is in prison for theiving?

For this example it can be solved in dialogue with NPC i guess.

Im sorry if i dont get your point

Yes, exactly like that!
Although that last one seems like a clear case…Of course you don’t let the rape happen if she did nothing.

Ok lets say a women is crying… you go talk to her and try to be kind with and ask her if you can help…
She say that her sister in trouble with drunk soldier who want to rape her…

You go see for yourself and talk to soldier’(s)… he said her husband his a criminal and she got what she deserve…

So now in the dialogue you have some choice to do

1 Leave and let the soldier…
2 Try to resolve the situation … talking to the drunk soldier.
3 Go get the baillif or a captain or any help.
4 Try to knock out the soldier
5 Kill the soldier with your sword.
6 Help the soldier to rape the women.

For me in some way its still choosing to be good or bad, no?

Yes, that’s the problem. You’re choosing to be evil or good. Those shouldn’t be options…ever…
Good and evil are fictional concepts, they exist only in fiction.

Ther is no good or evil people… only what they do is good or evil.
Im sure you will have to decide to do good or bad thing in the game.

But i hope for no alignment like in other RPG like you decide to be good or evil when doing character.
You should always have the choice for yourself at any time… but hope you have to live with your choice after.

Sometimes, sure, but even in those cases they don’t do those evil things for no reason whatsoever. Even Hitler had a reason for what he did. Evil people don’t do evil things simply for the sake of being evil. There are arguments to be made and sometimes the option comes between one evil and another.

Im sure you will have ethical choice like that in the game.
Already in the alpha there is some ethical choice you have to do.

there are so many examples of evil people in life, your statement makes me laugh. just because they are able to justify and rationalize their acts doesn’t suddenly exclude them from being judged on their moral character.

anyone who doesn’t think ted bundy is evil is doing mental gymnastics

Yes that what i beleive… there is no suche thing has hell and haven. So being good or bad make no sense.
Only our action are bad or evil  anyway i cant do semantic debate in english im sorry.

Yes, just like that.
213, I’m not saying we shouldn’t judge them on their moral character, but really, there are no objective standards we can measure them to.
Every single person who does evil thing does them for a reason, that reason may be insane and evil on its own, but that person genuinely believes that. As I said, Hitler thought that Jews ruined everything and while that reason makes no sense and is prejudiced and evil, it’s at least A REASON. He didn’t do it because he just decided:ā€™ā€˜I’m going to be evil today!’'
Evil things are not done for the sake of being evil. There is no such thing as objective evil because there’s no objective standard it can be measured in.

FCD should draw as much as possible from the ugly reality. Even though few games take that approach as too controversial and/or not suitable for minors, both the Song of Ice and Fire and The Witcher proved there is a big market for art (games/books/comics, etc. touching heavy subjects) that screams ā€œThe king is naked!ā€ and is not afraid of bringing out taboo to the public to be broken and called into question by catching everybody’s attention. Besides, evil-good choices are very one-dimensional and thus less interesting. I always found it silly when someone said ā€œI am doing my first playthrough as the good guy, the second time I will be the bad guyā€. I always felt that role playing - even in games - is not supposed to be like that, but then again I have a lot of issues with how role playing is done in modern games in general…
