Basically, one of the main problems that Skyrim had was the menu: they made it mainly for consoles and didn’t address their PC audience. Almost immediately, modders went to work to create more user-friendly menu options for PC users that worked much better than the original menu. I know that this game will be made for PC first and console second, which is great; I’m just curious as to whether or not they will use different menu options between platforms or create one that is user friendly across the board.
Vavra repeatedly said that it is possible to create menu capable of sorting by different criteria, with option for search and other features that are usually only on PC games and design this menu in a way that it is easy to use it with console controllers.
I have never played Skyrim with controller, but I can imagine the menu being PITA. The menu seemed to me just lazy. Not designed for controller.
I know this would be a PS4-only thing, but perhaps that touchpad sensor can function sort of like a mouse pointer in certain ways when going through menus, or at least have that option.
I’d be curious to see if and how it’s used in other ways, too. A few games have tied it in with map mechanics so far, and Killzone makes good use of it with the OWL.
