Hunting and P0aching

So how do you hunt with out it be poaching??

I only assumed that if I went to a “hunting spot” it wouldn’t be poaching, but if I kill lets say a boar in a boar hunting spot it still says “stealing” when I try and take the loot…

Can someone explain the whole hunting/poaching mechanic to me.

Thats a good question … i would love that to to know. actually i feel that would be a nice thing as a form of income for some players where they could at least get a hunting license to allow them to sell the gain

So… I stumbled upon a quest for the an in keeper and he wants game meat…

The in game description clearly says Hunting is illegal, so I guess all hunting is considered poaching. Not sure if you are able to eventually get permission from a lord or anything but commoners not be able to hunt is historically accurate.

I guess if you want to sell the goods you have to take them to a miller, I haven’t tried selling poached meat or animal parts yet to a Tanner or Huntsman – can anyone confirm that you can though?

In these times everything that lived in the woods was considered property of the king, so in fact every deer or boar you shoot is poached/stolen. The hunting spot is solely a marker for you that marks the best places for hunting, for example if there is water nearby and thus more attractive for animals.

If you want to sell the meat, you could try to cook it. Cooked meat doesn’t have the ‘stolen’ marker.
