So after a copious amount of time hunting in the woods, I’m still yet to come across a boar. In one of the quests early on it’s mentioned the best way to kill a boar is with a spear.
So my question is this; does anyone know from their experience if you really do need a spear or does using archery work just as well? Also, I haven’t come across any shops that even sell spears yet. And can anyone recommend a good region to hunt in for boar?

Spot south of Rattay, spot west of Skalitz, spot southwest of Ledetchko.

Also I’ve easily managed to kill them with short swords also as they charge past you.
Else spears and halberds and such I believe you an only obtain from bandit/Cuman corpses since you can’t keep them in your inventory. You can only wield them, if you walk into a city this gaurds will be upset. Can’t sell them either.
Historically you would Use Specialized boar Spears (“Saufeder”) to let the boar kill himself by charging in your direction and running into the spear you’re holding.
However i dont think this is implemented in the game so Just Use your bow. Would be cool if IT worked with the spear though
Perfect! Exactly what I’ve been looking for, thank you. It is a shame about the spears however, it would’ve been a cool approach to hunting them. I guess I’ll just had to stick them with a couple of arrows before they stick me. Don’t want to end up like Robert Beratheon after all.
1 arrow coated with bane poison did the trick. You do have to wait about 15-20 secs for it to die, though.
