well I dn´t read the codex, but bear were here (you can cross borders to Slovakia and there still are). But no Grizzly.
If they will add one animal let it be wolf.

I like the idea of animal but I understand the lack of necessity for them. I want more stuff to do with my food and more ways to process a dead animal before you add more animals. IF they add more it should be predatory animals so that there are some that oppose a threat…I will guarantee wolves. I suppose I could have imagined it but I’m pretty sure howling is a sound effect in the game. I’m just saying the woods, especially at night, should be something you would want to avoid at all costs, lest you find yourself facing a pack of wild wolves/dogs. I can fight a bandit or two in the dark, I can hardly fight a boar with a sword…imagine fighting a small, nimble animal. They would do shit for damage against plate but theyll destroy your stam, and they attacking in packs of 3-4.
Tl;dr
add wolves, make them attack in packs, if even only at night, #MakeTheWoodsScary
I dont know if wolves would actually attack a human (realistically)
Today they are more scared than aggressive towards men but I agree if wolves will be added then they should be predators some may attack humans but I’d also like to see them attacking deer or like I said in previous post other predators like eagles would be cool if they would fly attacks against small animals like rats/rabbits
right. Like they live in the woods, you can hear them but probably rarely see them. Or if you do see them they’re probably attacking a deer, some may attack and then flee they all may just run off whatever, maybe make it random; not necessarily implemented for hunting but for a mild threat in the woods at night specifically.
Also you could come across dead, either rotting or freshly dead, deer due to the wolves…like you do horses due to the plague and raids. REALISM!
we’re also much more mechanically advance, louder and more visible now then humans were then. And our boundaries from cities/town to woods are much more clear now as opposed to then where there are woods literally on each side of about every “road” lol. Shouldnt be getting attacked all the time, but once in a while…again, a punishment for just trudging through the woods without a care in the world like I can now.
wolves could also work good for sidequests
like a shepherd wants you to kill a wolve because he’s worried about his sheep
or there are rumors of a wolve thats hunting humans and you should take care about it and so on
More diversity, yes but the rate of encounter is good as it is now.
dude that could be fun. There are sheep everywhere, but nothing going on with them. So how about packs of wolves can attack town’s sheep and if you help mad bonus rep and if you dont then whatever. Or have it be a quest you can take to help trim the number of wolves in the area down. An infinite side quest that has like a 2 week refresh or whatever. Just every so often you ask around and they’re like “yea, we’ve been being attacked by wolves. Talk to so and so”.
I’m probably just not spending enough time in the woods to be honest. I went hunting with Hans and it just felt like forever before I ran into a rabbit…they’re also hard to see some times though so whatevs.
Beavers/beaver dams. Critter meat/skins and wood for selling. Did they have beavers?
Agree except not enough aquatic animals (crane, duck, rare otter, kingfisher) Almost too many rabbits.
Marten and mink are Czech animals. Fur trade value.
So I can buy roast duck but I have not actually seen a duck…stuff like this is not a deal breaker by any means but its something I notice.
I would love to see more animals implemented.
Yes. Skyrim was the exact same empty world devoid of any interactive/exciting/realistic flora & fauna. Until mods like Real Wildlife Skyrim, Hunterborn, Skybirds, Animallica, Bugs 101, Jaws, Fishing in Skyrim/Better Fish. Hell even exotic mods that added Morrowind Cliff Racers and exotic non lore penguins.
Once the immersive beauty of the countryside wears off, the empty wooded interiors and water bodies/streams become painfully noticeable. The most exciting thing I encountered in any body of water to date, was a fish trap near the quarry at talberg. It provided 3 fish and was a great immersive boost as they could be cooked. But it would’ve been so much more superior in game play if Henry could buy/craft his own fishing poles. And catch all those butterfly/insects as bait. Then have some quality down time improving his fishing skill while getting his meal. But that’s not the case.
And I haven’t encountered any more traps since then.
Skyrim became a dynamic, living, breathing world the moment I installed those mods. Besides Hunterborn, add environmental/immersive/realism mods that support wildlife the likes of Frostfall/Campfire, Private Needs, Bathing in Skyrim, RND/Imp’s More Complex needs and a ton of custom food mods that add recipies to the cooking workstation and KCD would become addictive to play.
I think instead of adding bears and wolves, they should improve the animals in this game. You can stand near a hare (about 3 meters) and shoot 5 to 6 arrows near them and they would not move an inch. If you get too close to them, they will run off for a couple feet and stop. Also every creature I’ve encountered can be killed with 1 arrow. You can shoot it in the arse, you can shoot it in the leg, they will die immediately no matter where you hit it. They won’t got too far when they are alerted and their reaction time is really slow as well as their speed. There’s no tracking involved, there’s hardly any skill to it and by ‘skill’ I mean learning how to use a bow. I don’t know if any of you have had a different experience with hunting, but for me…this is it.
Agreeed about the animals AI, Another thing… I grew up in the South and I would go Gun and Bow hunting with my dad, I never seen deer act the way they do in this game. Fix the existing animals and then add more
Arrow flies by elk, deer, boar, rabbit, Cuman (waiting not yet triggered), bandits (waiting not yet triggered) … hmm (continue). The AI is messed up for all
I’ve had to put 2 into boar and elk.
I don’t hunt, but I know my way around a bow and I’ve seen hunting videos and harvesting videos. They run off a good distance before they bleed out, in this game they just plop over like a domino or something. No sound or anything, just…
Well with deer, You supposed to shoot them behind the front thigh. Drops them in real life (Shot to the Heart)
Critical shots drop. Not always but it can happen
