Will there be realistic hunting system? Like bloodtrails and that stuff? I saw even the new far cry will use it and far cry isnt a simulator or something. What is ith the animal AI ? Will I be able to touch a deer if I run like in other games? Dont want a simulator but a believable system. My Last question why is the map so small Big forests with for example 10 sqare kilometres in size would be much better in my opinion. There could be bandits,
predators, ressources for crafting or selling and much more.
Please use the search option. There is probably a dozen hunting threads already.
This has also been discussed in multiple threads. The map is not hardly small, and is larger than Oblivions map, which always felt pretty big to me. Bigger does not always equal better, would you rather have a huge map with hundreds of generic copy and paste quests, or would you rather have a medium sized map with dozens of long, well written unique quests?
I cant find offical staments about hunting.
Oblivion isnt as big as the most other todays open world games (skyrim, witcher, gta, far cry…) I would prefer both. Handmade quests and semi liniar story but a huge wilderness area with bandits and wild animals like in near every open world game.
I’m almost positive there are several official statements about hunting in at least one of the hunting threads.
Far cry, and Gta can be completely discounted as a relevant comparison. Both those games have cars and even air craft. Skyrim and the Witcher have enormous budgets especially in comparison with KC:D. Skyrims map may have been large but it felt empty, and dull to me.
Total biscuit said it perfectly.
“Skyrim is an ocean with the depth of a puddle”.
Also remember that KC:D will take place in real world locations, it’s not going to be an entire continent or country, but only a section of Bohemia. Here is a very good read on map sizes in RPGs.

Rule 34 of KCD forum: If it exists, there is already thread about it. No exceptions.
Officially there will be hunting, its mechanics are not done yet, so its hard to say, how realistic they want them to be.
I personally am not really attracted to idea of spending bloody two hours trying to find that stupid deer which ran away 3km after I shot him.
My personal guess is this: No or limited wind+smell mechanics.
Blood trail mechanics - yes, but greatly simplified thanks to your dog, which will probably be able to find your prey.
Skinning and ability to use your prey´s body part probably tied to your skills.
Also do you know how long it would take you to run through forest of 10 square km? its like square of 3x3, I personally can run 3 km in about 10-15 minutes, and that is waaaaay too long, as this forest in no way can be interesting enough to spend so much time here.
I like Fallout 4 as example - its map can be crossed corner to corner in 11 minutes or so, and look how large it feels. Its due to fact that in games, our perception of size and time is shifted, and I usually get annoyed when I need to run for more than 2 minutes straight (looking at you, Dragons dogma), which is around 500m in real life…
Yes, I can confirm that hunting will be in the game, but I can not talk about details here
10 minutes walk trough fotorealistic forest is too much? A core feature of the game is the realistic and immersive world. Explore forests are a usual thing in open world games. And nobody force you to make a walk or hunting trip in a remote area.
I totally agree with your opinion about hunting mechanics. Realistic but uncomplicated. For example deer escape for 300 metres with blood trail or a dog help to track it. Wind scent is also important but it should not be a full hunting simulator. Its the same like in combat. It should be high immersiv and realisitc but should even makes fun.
