For me, the character’s athletic abilities are greatly exaggerated. I tested, I am capable, no problem to jump a planted field, from a fence to another. This represent of 4-6 meters of jump. You need retouch the athletic abilities, specially if you like include suport for Oculus Rift 
Wow, didn’t have that problem at all myself - if anything the jump was limited to my taste

I agree with Relaxis… I can’t do any amazing jumps with my character. Tried to jump from a fence to a low roof of a shed but that didn’t work.
