I have a feeling it is getting close

I hope they make the character look up at the sky, whilsy music fades out and all streaming drive activity stops long enough to make a proper ‘save and exit’.

If it takes em a lil longer and it all works better… any changes are welcome…

Come on Warhorse. Just push the button and make it public. No Risk No Fun :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow really

Sorry Leroy, which performance?

I would hope, the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few, that bugs would be first along with any other save related issues… then other bugs, then glitches, then maybe optimisation.

Really not sure its best to optimise for framerate (wondering if this is what you mean by performance?) before sorting out the need of the public who want to play it.

Iget a few areas of framerate lows in areas where a lot of indoor particles and complex lightling is going on (eg surrounded by multiple dwellings)… but I am playing on ultra+ on a few year old midrange (enthusiast) rig

Yeah those shitty unoptimised areas are what I’m talking about and yes at this stage they should be optimising it, it’s not absolutely terrible but it needs tuning for sure. And yes of course game breaking bugs come first , don’t need you to tell me that mate, go read my previous posts about priority’s because I said the exact same thing.

well Ifind with those areas just turning the ultra high settings down makes the framerate go liquid quick again…

in fact I have it down to such a fine art that I alternate between two different shadow settings and I can maintain pretty much 60fps .

remember few year old mid range (enthusiast) rig… ultra + (everything cracnked to max, yes vegetation etc)

I don’t think optimisation is going to be hard,… as during cut scenes when they drop the back end stuff the framerate just locks at my max monitor update speed (everytime bar one, so far)
Iactually thought it all had to be prerender and then thought no one prerenders videos higher than 60frames, and not for 21:9…

It is almost like they have forgotten to drop an exterior wall here or something to gain back performance… but so far the only consistant culprit Ican find is ultra level lighting,… and walking between a few buildings… Its a hit and my vid card isn’t what the developers built the ultra settings for (next gen tech they said)…

In fairness most medium settings are pretty much yesteryears high/ultra settings anyway.

Yeah, if you read digital foundry’s article it’s really good as the lead programmer had a chat to him about it, which I love and wish more people did, he confirmed that when you’re at high settings specialy lighting it enables a special lighting and I must admit it looks amazing indoors, can’t remember name, vaox something, he also confirmed medium is about console settings with a few tweaks, I’m playing at medium preset but then a couple important settings at high, the ones that just make a very big difference, so lighting, volumetric lighting high, game effects high, pretty much medium everywhere else.

what card and cpu?

Bearing in mind I’m locking to 30fps as I allways do which in games well optimised lets me pretty much max out settings, but this games lighting setting does cause drops under 30. That’s why I’m whining lol. Not expecting miracles.

I also will upgrade to 3770k as thats best my mobo supports without changing socket

I5 2400, I boosted the clocks up to 3.8ghz even though it’s locked.

R9 380 4gb xfx so has factory overclock.

SSD.

8 GB ram. And while I know I’m gonna need more eventually, no games have given me trouble with it. Yet.

So yeah, I know it’s ageing big time but once i whack in that i7 I’ll be good for a while I reckon, get some more ram too.

I think I’ll get an amd ryzen CPU next pc though , I hate how expensive intel is, specialy when no games are taking advantage of all that technology. They keep spewing out CPUs with 1000 cores and runs at ten million GHz, but why ? What’s the point. Not for gaming anyway.

:joy::joy: Uh oh here come the fanboys.

This game is nuts on cpu.
If you have a working system, better to keep it and build new. Unless you wanted to slowly bit by bit do it as you said.
The AMD systems doseem to offer a huge leap forwaed in price /performance and in principle of not buying into the shenanigans intel put out this time around, you kinda would want to go AMD yes?

This isnthe first game on forever that has pushed requirements… its so cool
Cpu wise even old i7 have been killing it up until this puppy.
I had a i3770k and even higjly overclocked, it wouldnt have bested a lowspeed six core (5920) that I have now… whereas every other game the four cour (w/ht) i7 would beat out my lower speed six core

This would basically be one of a few games to make early i5s not the gaming superpowers they always had been.
Youve got your ram in dual channel mode? Or is the extra ram for another purpose…?

That lighting setting is nuts. I think the dust particles are a little too big for my liking too…

Yeah I agree mate. Glad you didn’t throw a hissy fit about it. Just my opinion after pc gaming for 10 years now, but yes like you say this game is the exception and tbh is actually worth spending a bit of money to play it properly.

Yah they’re in dual channel. I think the i7 3770 will be fine for my needs, you got to remember I couldn’t give a shit about 60fps, when I got my pc new and it could hold 60 if it every dropped under even rarely I cap it to 30 straight away.

Now while a i7 3770 obviously won’t perform better than a latest 6 physical cores, it definitely will suffice for maxing games out at playable FPS, so above or at 30, I never cap fps to 40, 35, it just doesn’t feel rite, it’s 30 or 60.

I couldn’t care if the next cpu up gets 3 FPS more either. :grinning:

Its kindavoberkill (keep your i5)… i7 3770k highly icerclocked is for 100-144fps gameplay

Phew with dual channel (thqt a quick easy upgrade otherwise)…

Cheap card jump (go a second hand card better than the one you got now… eg a cheap 470
Edit soz checked your card… i think it should be alright.
But go a 470 over a 560 for a better bargain second hand buy. Better than ram, way more games would benefit from the card upgrade than going to 16gb

If the twenty fps moments you are talking about are ina few spots only I found shadows a step lower helped… but I think you already lowered it the most?..

Yeah medium is about as low as I wanna go. I don’t ever settle for anything lower than consoles lol, other wise it’s like I may as well play on my PS4. Love my PS4.

Yeah my GPU is ok for now . But I will definitely upgrade to another midrange mainstream card after I’ve upgraded to i7 3770, even though like you say it’s not even needed ATM. BUT , ITS definitely starting to show its age, getting drops under 30 FPS is just not gonna cut it, I cannot stand drops under 30. I use double vsync using radeonpros and it makes 30 nice and smooth like console 30fps.

Assassin’s creed origin is another that gets drops under 30 at towns. Alexandria. But what can I expect. My CPU is actually usually the minimum requirement these days, but I never listen to officiall requirements, there allways bullshit .

But they allways recommend i73770 ,seen second hand i7 3770 on eBay for 150 quid. Defo my next upgrade as it’s only thing pulling me down from 30, most pc gamers be like what 30 ? Ew. Lol. 30s fine for me.

i have a feeling its going to release tomorrow

What makes you say that ?

Framerate is great for me, The pop ins and loading times need a little work

Because I dont think its going to come today and when they want to release it this week they wont do it on weekends that means its releasing tomorrow… but its just a feeling  If not tomorrow then probably next week

if not this week, the next one. if not the next one, the one after that… the update was due last week as matter of fact, then unknown, then this week… well, you know how it goes.
