I really want to love this game

I am playing on PS4. I am trying to play this game with an open mind as it is very different from other games–in a good way. I want to love it-- as I can see the potential. As it currently is, I play for 30-40 min and feel like I am making great progress and the game either crashes or my character gets stuck and can not move–forcing me to restart. All of this would not be so terrible if it wasn’t for the fact that there is no reliable way to save your progress and I keep ending up restarting from the last time I slept–loosing all I have just accomplished. Needless to say this is super frustrating.

Open to suggestions, advice–Is there hope?

i agree with you,
The save system like it is, is a good idea for immersion,
but with all the bugs it is really bad that we cannot save at will

Buggy game + this save system = i cannot play

You’re not lying. The save system is a flaw. Games crash, power goes out. You can overstock them but it’s a pain when they sell two at a time usually.

There is a lot to like. But also a lot of frustrating things.

For these reasons alone is why i want to be able to save the game whenever i want. I dont get it. I mean if u dont want to save the game over and over then you dont have to so why not implement saves so that people that are having issues can enjoy the game a bit more :frowning:

40+ hours in on the siege of Talmburg my game crashed and corrupted my save file. RIP to my time am I right

I can say confidently that I’ve lost about 12 hours of game play through game breaking bugs and I’m honestly getting to my wits end with it. It’s a shame because for the most part I’ve enjoyed everything this game has to offer.

By far the most annoying bug I had was when Theresa just followed me EVERYWHERE like the butler from the old tomb raider game. I could have dealt with the creepiness of it but every time she was near me I couldn’t perform any action be it trading, talking, repairing and even using the menus.

I also fell to my death from a height of a subway sandwich after hunting in the woods for almost 2 hours. I saw red with that let me tell ya.

Hopefully they get that save on quit thing out for you guys. Kinda sucks still though cause a crash is not a quit, meanwhile PC players have unlimited saves. I feel like they just should toss in unlimited saves for console users. I can appreciate the mechanic but with how unstable the game is, maybe… maybe don’t put in a mechanic that requires an item to save the game.

I have heard it gets significantly easier if you learn to brew your own Savior Schnapps though before going off and adventuring.

Ya the falling damage is insane! I jumped off a small stone ledge with about a foot drop and died. At first I laughed, but then realized everything I had just done was lost:(

I have been trying to use fast travel as I find new points to go back to my bed and sleep (even if only for an hour) just to get the save before moving on. This seems to help, but their is nothing fast about fast travel and if I get attacked while traveling I usually die and lose progress. I also found that I can sleep in beds in places that have many injured people sleeping–only found one so far–but it helps:)

PS4 user too. Lost all game sound. Was really interesting … the characters didn’t move their mouths but ‘said their lines’ (subtitles displayed/progressed). Anyhow restarted PS4 and restarted last save. Worked. Got sound back. Point: try a reboot; Seems like the temp files for KCD on PS4 get corrupted

Well at least you can play. I can’t even get past the first quest because of a bug…

you are being to nice - this game is downright broken, and only half done - i would be happy if i got a discount when buying at launch, then you can up the price when the thing is finally done and playable ( if ever ) even these forums are a joke … its a joke … and like everyone else I really want to like this game, but for the love of god - stop selling games that shouldnt have left alpha yet … oh whats that - you will make a patch within 2 weeks that will remedy some of the problems … oh gosh, can i please send you more money to express my undying gratitude ? wanna buy my car ? its brand new but has no engine or wheels - but you do get an airbag for free … no ? i promise i will deliver the engine some time this spring and mount the wheels for you before christmas … give or take a decade or two …
