I think it's better to wait a few weeks. That's what devs. should do anyway

Well after about 40 hours of gameplay and when my Henry becomes a superhero I decided to withdraw for a while because the game is basically unplayable. I engage Cumans/Bandits and when I draw my sword most of them are soaking wet of piss running all over the place out of their minds. Others shit themselves after first hit. There is almost nothing in the middle Henry rises from useless prick unable to hold the sword to superhero where he can kill enemies by staring at them. I actually did not encounter any game breaking bug. I find that mainly graphic and AI needs some work…
I decided to wait a couple of weeks let devs add patches. Also I will probably add some mods to improve the AI unless brought by devs.
P.S. best bug so far, Henry appeared about 200feet above the ground I was mising only parachute.
P.S. 2 Anyway love the graphics as a whole and the effort Dan put in to creating medieval athmosphere and design. Also music is pretty good

I completely agree with this. You go from horribly sucking at every aspect to all of a sudden dominating any foe. I also didn’t feel the “progression”. I can only hope they bring in mechanics to scale enemy’s to your own abilities in some way.

But this and bugs aside I’ve still Thoroughly enjoyed this game don’t get me wrong.

I’m curious how many people experiencing this spent a good amount of time in the training arena. It seems like if you just play the main quest straight through, it isn’t so pronounced.

It is mate… I didn’t spent much time with Bernard. I was with him like three/four times for 10 min…

Lol There was this time when I got surrounded by around 7 enemies and 1 archer. I was actually being pressured for once until 3 of them decided to surrender out of cuman honor. Slaughtered them all with 2 hits each, 1 for the archer

I had to laugh today I was ambushed by 2 bandits and when I draw my shitty sword they ditched their heads in to the ground. Come on WH this is boring!!!

I didn’t. I only did intital training and went back and learned the more advanced stuff and that was it on my first character.

I went through the game playing like I normally do in an RPG. Questing, side questing, exploring and killing bandits/cumans and selling loot. The enemies don’t scale in anyway and when you combine some of the perks like Savage, Brute, and Heavy Swing you will do 100+ damage in the stat sheets… It’s not even hard to achieve that much damage and it’s not like you have to be super specialized.

Once you get that much damage you exceed all Defense modifiers on pretty much every weapon, which means unless an enemy perfect blocks you will ALWAYS stagger them when they block and they will take some damage as well being open for another attack.

I don’t think it was intentional on the devs part for you to just snowball through the game once you hit level 10, I really feel like all the Alpha and Beta tests occurred mostly when Henry was “lower” level so we couldn’t see how leveling up makes him scale like a Demi-god of destruction.

Bottom line once you get to a certain point- I’d say if you’re a “decent” player by 15hrs ointo the game you should be obliterating most enemies quite easily. If you have the best possible weapon at this point you are killing enemies in full plate in just 1-3 hits.

I actually made a new character where I deliberately gimp myself just to see if I still snowball. Sadly I am. As a Combat character I took two perks that gave me a total of -2 strength and -1 sword and -1 warfare my guy is level 9 and I’m already destroying stuff this early into the game. I’m not taking any positive stat perks unless it’s only going towards Speech or Charisma, and I’m even forgoing some perks all together. I’m also using weaker weapons like Thumper Sword. You should never be able to spec the opposite of what you want to play and still dominate the role you aren’t necessarily specing for in an RPG – and the fact that this game allows that shows how flawed the progression is. The scaling and leveling just wasn’t tested enough. I REALLY hope Warhorse is aware of the progression and intends to fix it in the future, this sort of flaw I would rather have the developers iron out and fix up rather than waiting for a mod.

The fact that we have difficulty adjustment mods on Nexus already, plus so many on the forums giving feed back on the difficulty later in the game becoming so ridiculously easy means it’s pretty evident the game has some issues with the leveling system and stat mechanics and such.

EDIT : Another indicator that the system is flawed because when you get to a certain point you will never be able to do a combo again, because everything dies in 1-2 shots anyway. The super complicated combos like Duplieren: Doubling for Longswords you will never be able to execute this outside the training arena because Bernard is broken and is a god just like you. The in game description calls this a powerful technique and it is, because I executed it, and it’s really hard to pull off. The animation you basically slide your sword in behind your enemies weapon and then they are unable to guard and you slash them right across the face – would be an instant kill in most situations. But since shit dies in 1 basic attack, the reward of this combo is insignificant.

Yeah youre right. Mods will help but i am going to wait after devs patch the game a bit then come back don’t wanna get annoyed by the game as I still like it.

But why ruin the game by rushing the main quest. It’s built on exploring the medieval eara and it does so very well.

It is great 15th century interactive project that is it so far will see how the patches and mods go

Yeah love the game so far. But I have one issue besides scaling. If you kill someone and you’re 100% sure no one saw you you’ll still be hated by the town

there sure will be mod for that

I don’t know if you agree with me people but it seems like the game is somewhere between to be open world realistic medieval game and open world story driven rpg and can’t decide. I think the first type the game deserves more and also kind of unmature kind of boring main story doesn’t help the second mention type of game much here.
