Hello everyone. I have opened this topic because I would like to ask the developers, as is important for them to optimize and if they will devote much time to optimize the game to get better performance. Personally, I think it is very important and can make a difference.
Optimization likely happens with every game. I do believe it’s come up before here, so I doubt there’s any reason to think it won’t be done in some form.
This is a question that I imagine is the nightmare of budget planners. With so many possible hardware configurations for PCs, there is always the question - WHAT should we optimize? It is entirely possible that some optimizations done for, say, PS4 will make things worse on 80% of PCs and better for 10%, while some clever tricks designed for PCs will do horror for the consoles. And all of this costs money. In addition, you always get reviews of ‘this game sucks, it is so slow’ by some part of the gaming community. I’m very curious as to what is the strategy of Warhorse regarding this. If the devs don’t have it as a trade secret, maybe they can share some of their experiences in game optimizing to a clueless but curious person?
personally, I think any game I should be well optimized, so that it can play a minimum condition. No such "assasins creed 4 black flag, which had so many details and so many things (with a very good graphics) cost the game worked well and that to miss all the excitement.
In summary. I think any company should invest in a good optimized so that everyone can play with a computer of average quality.
thankfully ubisoft is infamous for being one of the worst companies when it comes to optimization. so think of any ubisoft game, and imagine it runs twice if not thrice as good, then that’s basically the standard for every other developer out there.
there are game devs, indie devs, then there is ubisoft.
