I left the quest as soon as i got it thinking i’d do it later. Now many hours in I can only find two people in the infirmary that needs help all other patients are fine and recovering except for the guy who can’t sleep and the guy who fell from the scaffolding. Since the original save was overwritten many moons ago, i cannot go back and start the quest new. I have read this side quest is essential for the main quest Siege What choice do i have? Not sure how to proceed.
Did you let the skalitz guy next to the broken leg guy die? He leads to a quest line that gets a priests for a cure and for Rovna church and later at the siege.
If he’s not the insomniac then I’m sure he’s dead already. I never even thought to look around the room the first time I was there so i didn’t see him. I didn’t drink with Father Goodman so I’ll have to convince him with a speech check. If you did not drink with him (which was needed for the Virgin trophy), you can convince him with a high enough speech stat. Unlike other persuasions, this one is not selected as a dialogue choice. When asking him for help you’ll either see a “Success” or “Fail” on screen while talking to him. Personally, I had speech level 15 and succeeded. One quick way to boost your speech is by consuming a Bard Potion. It increases speech by 5 levels for 10 minutes. Bard Potion can be bought at any Bathhouse (e.g. Rattay Mill Bathhouse). So if you fail, load the last save, drink a Bard Potion and try again.
If he refuses to help you outright, you can recruit Priest Simon in Rovna instead. However, you must have completed the Side Quest “A Man of the Cloth” to make Simon spawn in Rovna. If you followed this walkthrough in the given order, you will have done this already in the last step when you went to the monastery to heal the sick (it’s a sub-quest needed to complete “In God’s Hands“
