In terms of whether I progress to the next quest or not, does it matter who I give the gold to in the quest "Besmirched"?

Adam or Andrew?

In the last quest I made some Cuman armour and I want to do some highway robbery, so I was looking forward to using it. If I give the gold/cross to Adam instead, will that mean I can’t progress to that quest?
