In the game can we design our weapon?

in the game can we design our weapon, like how long for the sword, how big in the brand and choice what the hilt look like?

I don’t think so, but it would be awesome. I vote for it!

Yay, would be nice to see it possible if you’re skilled enough as a blacksmith or something.

I think so, yes, it was in one of the videos.

It would be nice if you could customise the cross guard, handle etc even if you don’t get to dictate the blade length and shape.

If we are blacksmiths it would only feel natural to be able to adjust length, hilt, pommel and cross guard based on skill,
with various benefits/disadvantages based on length and balance and so on.

That would add to some amazing realism to the game, id love it!

This would be amazing

This is a good idea. It will be great if they let us do that in game. However, they need to tell us how many weapons we can use in the game first. The specific number I mean. So far, I haven’t read any specific information about weapons.

I think this would be a great idea. But would we have to go and mine our steel? Choose sticks for arrows? etcetera

And that is why something like this should be clearly limited to what was used historical in this part of Europe.

I could imagine that they will handle it like they did in skyrim.
You need 3 Iron-Ingots and some wood to craft it.

It would awesome to be able to adjust details etc, and it doesn’t need to be super advanced either just being able to choose blade length as well as what side is sharp, even just controlling the qulity of the material in the sword would make it intresting.

It sounds like you want to make a Katana  and i tell you the katana is worse than a longsword^^

Well i wont like it becouse it wouldnt fit with the historical acuracy

nah, katana and inventing basket hilt are too hollywood, not to mention super complex in the case of a basket hilt. i think your design input will be limited to the types of weapon designs available at the time. with that said, they did mention your blacksmithing mini games will affect the final look of the weapon. again, i think the degree of player control over that will be limited for realism’s sake. but who knows, maybe you can grind your sword into a katana shape then watch it break on first use because the method and material used is a western method based on technology and knowledge available to a blacksmith in 1403 bohemia.

It is a great idea! I’m concerned about sword fight physics though…I don’t think it would be easy to manage different kind of weapons customization.

why i have this thinking is because they said in the game everyone are different, so i think the weapon may have little different also because every weapon is hand-make
on my thinking if this happening, on the sword too long may make it hard to control because it will more weight, if the brand is not really big it may easy to broke by some strong attack.
hilt make it gorgeous may make it useless for a fighting

That is an excellent idea. Perhaps as the game progressed you would have access to jewels that you could encrust on the cross guard or the end of the handle.

As for dictating the length of the blade, I really think that is un-needed. I imagine that there will already be preset swords that you can pick up at the blacksmith shop and then perhaps as mentioned above you could hopefully do some personalization to your own sword.

I’m not sure but it’s something I’d certainly love to see!
