Inaccuracies With Bows

Hey,
the bows in Kingdom Come lack just a few things to be very accurate.
Sorry for being so nitpicky but you want to make an accurate game, so I thought some info might help.
Also, some people might find it interesting what bows really looked like during that time.

1st The cross-section of the bows don’t seem to be D sections but rectangular (I’m not completely sure though because it’s hard to see from the videos)
Here is a cross-section of a bow found on the famous ship Mary Rose: http://www.archers-review.com/images/845.jpg
Pretty round and D shaped.

2nd Now, this is my biggest problem, bows in the middle ages didn’t have leather grips where you grab them, it was just plain wood.
Examples:
Manuscript around 1400: http://manuscriptminiatures.com/media/cache/manuscriptminiatures.com/original/562-21_large.jpg

Manuscript 15th century:https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/24/Battle_of_crecy_froissart.jpg

3rd Side nocks
Bows of that time had nocks on the sides instead of the back of the horns.

Some of them had double grooves on the nocks, to get the string on. Probably all heavy warbows because it’s impossible to string them without a stringer.

A lot of the bows of that time weren’t very straight either, they were simply made by taking the bark off a tree and then shaping it along the natural grain.

Here is a replica:

Again, from the Mary Rose find because they’re probably the only source of surviving bows of around that time.

Manuscripts:
South Germany around 1400: http://manuscriptminiatures.com/media/cache/manuscriptminiatures.com/original/562-4_large.jpg

South Germany around 1450: http://manuscriptminiatures.com/media/cache/manuscriptminiatures.com/original/950-35_large.jpg

Germany 1441: http://manuscriptminiatures.com/media/manuscriptminiatures.com/original/1563-63.jpg

The arrows look really good already
Cheers!

surely that would depend on the preference of individual archers ? just seems like something people could do.

I’ve never seen it on any manuscript so it probably wasn’t something people did. Also, a bow in one of Kingdom Comes recent videos has a golden decoration around the grip which looks very typical modern. These kinds of bows originated in the 19th century as far as I know.
