Infiltration of the Cuman camp dressed as Cuman failed

Hello there!

I killed the cuman near the quarry to get the armour. So now I want to infiltrate the camp of the cumans but I can’t! Everytime I try to go into the camp they recognize and kill me. I chose the “Diplomat” way to play the game.

I read that someone speaks to you in the thread “Disguise and infiltrate camp” and you can answere in Hungarian. This event doesn’t happen to me. What have I done wrong?

I wear only the bastard sword an the Cuman armour of the soldier I killed near auf the quarry on the way to the mineshaft.

Please help me!

Make sure you only wear Cuman clothes/armor. Also don’t get spotted committing any sort of crime or attacking others

Should I put the bastard sword also in my inventory (not wearing the sword)?

You can wear it just don’t take it in your hand

The problem might be that the soldier you killed does not have full face plate helmet.
I recommend to follow the “official” path to the andit camp.
Follow the road behind talmberg castle, pass the woodcutter camp and go stright at the ruined house.
After a while you should encounter two cumans. One of them will have full face plate helemet and that is what you need.

Although i was also several times discovered even in full cuman outfit. You will just have to keep trying until it works.

I think you can’t be there too long or get too close to enemies or they can recognize you. I dressed everything from cuman and had only bastard sword and guards talked about someone messing around and thief … besides that they mentioned hunger and I’m not even sure they meant me or they wanted to steal themselves, but I had feeling I was suspicious.
I haven’t tried to go there dressed as bandit - gambleson, short sword, shield etc.

Imho it shouldn’t be possible to inflitrate cuman camp, or at least player shouldn’t be able to come close without being recognized, because Cumans were more tanned, than Bohemians and easily recognizable. Cumans came from steppes on east, they were at first terrorizing Hungary, later they became hosts on Hungary court. I don’t know exact situation around year 1403, but I guess it was still kinda similar. Cumans were commonly hated, but tolerated on some courts and where they were tolerated, they were also servants (bad and unstable, but still kinda servants).
But that’s just my opinion.

I tried it and it didn’t work. This time I went to the broken church at first and a cut scene started. After this I walked a few meters and was recognized again.

I know it’s a beta version but after three totally new beginnings of playing I became desperate.

@DrFusselpulli Kannst du mir Tipps geben? Ist das ein Bug, oder mache ich etwas falsch?
Ich trage ausschließlich die Rüstung und den maskierenden Helm von einem der Soldaten auf dem Weg zum Camp und das Langschwert (Bastard Sword). Ist es wirklich die Nähe zu den Soldaten, die mich auffliegen lässt?

Ich würde mich über eine Antwort freuen!

It might not work as well since the patch, all my successes wearing cuman clothes or armor were before the patch.

Today i got in selling myself as a rebel, this is achieved by telling the 4 rebels at the mill were Timmy is hiding and then following them. after they threathened him you get an invitation from their leader Mormock to come and find him at their camp. When getting close to the church entrance a cutscene started and they all attacked me afterwards.
on a 2 try i avoided the entrance as much as possible and found Mormock by the campfire after talking to him a different cutscene started with Runt orderering everyone to kill me at the end. This could be because i play as squire haven’t had the time to test it as diplomat.

Will test disquised as cuman later, broke the AI twice today after trying it when they all attacked me and managed to ran off.(everyone in the camp was standing around and shouting there was an intruder and no 1 attacked me unless i bumped into them(.

@len_von_geist ich frage mal nach was genau die Hintergründe für die Entdeckung oder nichtentdeckung sind. Ich nehme an dass auch deine Skillfähigkeiten einen Aufschluss geben, und sich dein Charakter eben auffallend nervös und verdächtig verhalten kann, wenn er nicht die passenden Skillwerte hat, aber das ist eine bloße Vermutung hier, ich muss da nochmal näher nachfragen.

Währen ich die Screenshots machte wurde ich von einem Soldaten angesprochen und ich habe erfolgreich auf Ungarisch geantwortet. Kann ich mich jetzt frei im Camp bewegen?

Ich trau mich noch nicht, weil ich keine Lust habe entdeckt zu werden.
Welcher dieser Werte ist hier von Bedeutung? Ich verstehe gut Englisch, aber bei manchen Kategorien weiß ich nicht, was sie hunderprozentig bedeuten.

A few tips:

  • Get Cuman dress / armor. The more you are covered, the better.
  • Full helm is a must.
  • Don’t try to infiltrate the camp through the main entrance. Usually, one or two bandints are on guard there.
  • You can walk around the camp and sneak in from behind. There is a hole between two ruined buildings, just enough to squeeze in.
  • Wait till the evening / night.
  • Stay away of bandits. If they have opportunity to have a close look at you, you can be discovered as a spy.
