True … I have visited some friends there and the history is very alive as far as I can say.
In fact Bohemia (latin name is perhaps more appropriate than german Böhmen) was the most important part of Germany/empire during late medieval. Nevertheless it was completely independent country.

It was called Kingdom of Bohemia, which was part of the empire. And majority spoke czech 
The nobility was in fact rather Czech and spoke predominantly Czech. It was rather urban population - descendants of german collonization during the rule of Ottokar II. - who could spoke german more likely.

the families in some nobility should have spoken German
