There is a quest where you have to go to Neuhof and follow captain bernard. When I enter Neuhof the game enters an infinite loading screen. I can’t continue the game.
I’m pretty much done with this game for now. I will try the game again in six months. I really enjoy this game, but the bugs are ruining the experience.
I´m facing the same problem at same quest. So i still not able to use the product i bought.
Same problem. Ive fired a mail off to Support, they suggest taking that approach and not opening bugs in the forum - you run the risk of them being missed.
interesting datapoint. I just left my game alone and did other things, and it finally loaded. So I would change this from “infinite loading bug” to Extremely Long Loading Bug.
The problem though is that when it finally does load, the quest is completely bugged and NPCs stand around with their arms outstretched. Creepy stuff.
I emailed this post to support, hopefully it gets fixed.
Same exact problem for me. I’ve had to stop playing this game because they have not fixed this bug. I’ve also e-mailed them about this over a week ago. I’ve heard nothing, so they either don’t care or ignoring my e-mail.
Please always specify what system you’re playing on when reporting issues.
I’m on PC and just started a new game and got to that quest with no problem, it did take a long time to load one of the scenes after I’d rescued Capon for some reason but seemed fine after that.

SOLUTION: When you start the quest don’t report to the NPC instead leave the area, as far as you can until a message pops up that says “failed to speak to the captain” then a new quest will pop up “mount your horse and follow the captain”, if you follow the path to the quest you will see a fast travel point at ‘‘NEUHOF’’ (DON’T GO FURTHER) from this point fast travel back to ‘‘RATTAY UPPER GATE’’ then back to ‘‘NEUHOF’’.
Quest is working perfect after that. Enjoy

If I understand you correctly, while you’ll be able to continue with the main line of quests (which is great!) you will not however get “Pebbles” (your free horse) which you were to be given when you spoke to the Captain-which you failed to do…
Also, am I clear in understanding that even though you fail to speak to the Captain, you can still complete the rest of the quest itself??
I am on a PS4Pro and am getting stuck at the same point on this same quest. I’ve gone as far as tried using both my horse “Boxer” as well as “Pebbles”, and arriving at the lead, and the rear, and pausing and sitting for 5 minutes prior to crossing the line the goes ‘black’… to see if anything makes any difference or not. (I created a save 100 yards out from the magic line)
I have also ran the ‘Playstation’ version of “defrag” multiple times in hopes of that helping as well… all to no avail. I sat and let it sit as long as 30 minutes waiting to see if it would load with no luck. So those above me, how long did you allow it to sit??
I’ve been a gamer since the early 80s and I realize that all games have bugs. Just that bugs like these are quite frustrating, to say the least.
Thank you for this! Heartbreaking to have interruptions like this in such a wonderful game but thank you for sharing this - got me past it too. Though I was sad the captain guy yelled at me for not reporting in!
