Introduction of Viking character

I was recently watching the video that Dan Vavra did about the development of kingdom come deliverance at Digital Dragons 2018.

It was listening to the part he mentions when they found informations of a Viking buried in one of the castles in Czech, which they believe was a protector of the lord or king. This seems like an incredible story to tell. How he came to be there and rose from outsider to protector.

I think it would be really cool to come across this guy or then even have a story made about him. I’m not so clear on his timeline and if it is in the same as Henry’s.

I think this would be an interesting character to play as. In a foreign land. Always having it over his head being looked down on as he is not a native, but proving his worth as a warrior and earning the respect of the local lord. His story leading up to his eventual position as a protector and after.

Because this character is not from " Czech republic" and is an outsider, you would be feeling even more immersed as you would be finding out about the Czech world around you from a newcomers point of view in game.

Thoughts.

What about language barrier, well educated Viking? I asked about Viking DLC. Seems more like absurdity.

By 1403 there had been no vikings for more than 300 years…

playing as a Viking will be really fun cuz the antagonist will probably be more evil and violent character raiding villages and etc

honestly, I like KCD a lot but I just don’t like Henry character.

but also Viking don’t fit in KCD time so they have to make a completely new game.

Yes in the video Dan actually says something about 900 which fits for Viking era. So it would have to roll back a few hundred years.

Henry is a likeable, awkward, somewhat goofy character to play.

With the Viking character it could be a stark contrast, It is a chance to go darker.
