Is a hardcore 1800 naval game something that might interest any of you?

I have always wanted a hardcore naval rpg, especially during the Napoleonic wars, with gun monkeys, midship men, gun crews, differing cannons, long (exceeding an hour) missions such as hunts for other ships in a vast map, or a mission where you are trying to escape from a hunter. and the ablity to buy new ships and upgrades for those, such as heavier guns and such. I dont think Black flag is very serious hardcore, its fun, but not hardcore, and your stuck with that one ship. This sound cool to anyone else?

Mh, giving it a spontaneous thought I would give it a try. Even more if you think of going further back into histories clouds of gun-blasting, powder-smoking ravaging of the Seven Seas. Aye, Black Flag was fun in some instance but too … lush in some other instances. Poking around in that ‘pirate matter’ for quite a time now, I found that the near-perfect Seafarer’s game to me would be a nasty mix-up of several games:

  • Sid Meier’s Pirates
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (was a good thing, although the trouble with the used engine almost killed it entirely and the story was vaguely based on the movies, but apart from taht had quite little to do with those )
  • Black flag
  • and some pirate-ish RPG I played, but forgot their name throughout the years… Pirates of the Burning Sea… was one of them, I think…

I am not that much into the pseudo-romanticism of a pirate’s stuff, but it’s the aera in general which keeps fetching my interest to some extend…

I like the Idea, would be cool to manage an entire armada.

I really like the setting of the Barbary Wars 1801–1815.

its a less commonly talked about part of American history.

Another point that makes me prefer the (pre-)colonial setting even more.

no, especially because they’re already in development.

give me a link to this because i want to see it, or atleast tell me whats its called.

Naval Action

and dont you dare send me a link about world of warships or caribbean,

That looks like a 3rd person game were you and you alone control the ship with just some useless Npc that walk around the ship to give it a better look, as soon as i find the part saying everything will be controlled by either AI or players, then i will be backing this game to fullest of my abilities.

heart of oak is another.
