Is there a hounskull, that is not always dirty and dented?

Seriously, for one of the most iconic types of helmet for the era, why does the hounskull in the game look like a dirty old shit bucket even when freshly repaired and washed?

peasant henry can only buy from regular armorers, he cannot access the masterworks reserved solely for lords

He can bloody well purchase decent armour from the MAster Workshops if Milano, Nuremburg or MAgdeburg. And those armours , even when slightly dirty and damaged, all look much better, cleaner and more well preserved, than the hounskull in perfect condition and freshly polished…

unfortunately the hounskull is local made, bad technique. blacksmith don’t use the correct buffing. the imported ones, italian, german, aachen bascinet, etc are cleaner and shinier with better hammering technique

That sounds like a White Knighting excuse right there

Well, let’s say even in rural Bohemia srafts had their standards, and nobody would be accepted as a journeyman even, if he wasn’t able to do a better job at making a hounskull than this :stuck_out_tongue:

nah realism excuse. war horse put too many good armor in game already, they need to put in more poor quality plausible armor for commoners. let modders add in the prestigious fantasy stuff

You’re trolling.

I assume (or rather hope) that you are well aware that craftsmen ‘back then’ didn’t just deliver crap. their normal everyday goods did still have some standards. And my issue is not any stats, but that the helmet in question seems to magically stay super dirty and banged up, no matter how well cared for it is.

I’d agree, that there is too many well armoured guys running around in Bohemia. But that is not to say that the armour that is there ought to be total shite.

Ferraris and other Prestigious Cars are rare today, but normal every day cars dont look like a burnt out dungheap either.
