Is there going to be a milsim game on console?

I would really enjoy a new (and way better than arma) milsim game on console. My older computer runs worse than my ps4 and handles arma 2 just fine so dont say that consoles cant handle it! Im not saying put arma 2 on console just saying that consoles can handle a milsim. Everyone points to operation flashpoint dragon rising and says that it sucks when really yea it kind of did but the ai was much much better than armas, but still that was the only "Milsim"on last gen. I mean sheeze to me someone could making something really neat. What about a ww2 milsim with very good ai, destructable buildings, ect.

I guess bottom line is im tired of arma ( i personally dont think it is good ) and im tired of all the battlefield and other AAA games that are raping consoles…
and want a good milsim game …

Well, i don’t think the demand for milsims on consoles is high enough, consoles generally target the more casual section of games. This is not a knock on console gamers, I’m just speaking the truth.

Well it’s not as simple as that. On the pc we have the luxury of being able to tweak the graphical settings to squeeze that extra performance out of games. The performance on multilayer when there are a lot of players tanks on my pc, a lot of servers fix this by having mods on there, and consoles do not have modding support. Milsims are just sorta made for pc in mind, you would have to drastically dumb down the controls of the game to get it to work on consoles.

Also Arma 2 is really old, so that’s not evidence that the consoles could handle it.

Also consider the controls, controllers simply do not have enough buttons required to play games like Arma. My recommendation to you is build a nice 400-500 U.S dollar pc, so you can play milsims. Because i just don’t see any coming to consoles any time soon.

MilSims on consoles? Or simulations on consoles in gerneral? Good luck about that. Consoles especially left out two markets: simulations and strategy games.
So I think you will not find a lot of games here.

I already have nice pc. I guess its just I really don’t like arma 3 even with mods and other stuff. I was trying to find out if I missed anything about some realistic-ish game on console. COD and Battlefield are just awe full to me, and it seems not very many good games are coming out on it. The only one that i saw was insurgency and thats a maybe.

Also don’t pull the controls card, i used controller just fine :wink: example: you don’t need salute, you don’t need ALL of the commands, you don’t need sit… there are a lot of controls you don’t need on it to tell the truth if you’re reffering to arma :slight_smile:

Well maybe a different and more real milsim than Arma. Lets negate the consoles for a sec. Do you know of any milsims coming out? (Other than Squad.)

More real then Arma? There only VBS2 comes in my mind, but this is not a game anymore. It is a military simultor to train soldiers, and it is based on ArmA. On the civilian market I think you can not come clother to reality then with ArmA. At least if you focus on infantry and combined arms.

Well if you want a proper simulator, then you need quite a few controls, even if you removed the pointless ones from Arma, you still would not have enough buttons on the controller.

A nice pc wouldn’t be worse than a ps4. :wink:

I noticed you mentioned ww2 games. Well Red orchestra 2 heroes of Stalingrad set in the Eastern front that allows you to play as either Germany or Russia. Or Rising storm which is set in the pacific campaign which allows you to play as japs or Americans. are great hardcore large scale shooters. They aren’t really simulators like Arma, but they pretty realistic, and extremely fun. You wouldn’t need that powerful of a pc to run them, i can run both at ultra getting 50-60 fps at 900p.

The makers of both those games are making a Vietnam game.

Oh, well I mean I have a new pc now, and I referred to my older one. Yes, I play these games but Red Orchestra 1 and Darkest Hour mods are far better :smile:

I would much rather have a more open world with front lines, dynamic battles, amazing ai, ect.
(I know about I44, again… AI!!! This is big. Ai mod’s don’t help too much…)

Believe it or not… OF: Dragon Rising did have pretty nice control system with controller. You press a hot button and bam! Bunch of new mapped controls (For commanding, and it really did make sense.) I am not saying that game is better than arma by the way… But, anywho, I guess I just slightly mad about no new simulator other than Arma. Basically, Arma has no competition because it seems no one else is making a simulator, which doesn’t make them work any harder, they just to add a small few new features. (And, I know one of devs was put in jail for taking pictures which probably hindered developement) And plus, I personally think Arma isn’t that good. I mean, yea, adding mods helps it but why add mods to it when most of that stuff should already be on the game? (Ex. Wind, better AI, ect.)

Since Killing Floor 2 is on Ps4, they say they might put RS2 on console. But it all depends on whether KF2 does good or not. It may seem that there isn’t a high demand for sims’/realistic games on console, but I’ll tell ya there is a silent big crowd waiting for one. Too bad I don’t have evidence for it.
