So I held off on buying this game for a while because of all the bugs ive seen. Judging by streams and posts on the forums it seemed like this game was unplayable on console and just a bad experience overall. I noticed that they released a new patch including a ton of bug fixes. Is the game better to play on ps4 now? I dont mind small bugs but if its game breaking or just annoying then I will probably wait a bit longer. Anyone currently playing on ps4 post patch notice that the game is working alright now?
The latest patch, 1.05, is not yet available for download on the PS4 so the PC folk could tell you better what to expect after that but as of version 1.04, I’d say the game is playable but sometimes annoying. You can still have a blast with it, but over the course of 90-100 hours you could expect to come across 1-3 broken side-questlines which reportedly have been fixed with the latest patch (The main questline is generally smooth for most players), clipping issues, late texture loading and other things you may already have heard of. Though experiences vary from absolutely flawless to downright broken, for the average user it is an ocassionaly frustrating but generally entertaining experience. If you’re eager to play it, I’d say buy it but if you’re not too hyped, maybe wait another month.
I’d sincerely advise you to wait for a couple more patches. 1.4 is coming soon apparently, but don’t know how much time it will take to certify it for the consoles.
I think 1.3 hasn’t been yet (though I might be mistaken here, haven’t checked) and it’s out for PC for a while.
If you want to have a fun experience, I’d say wait.
If you wait until patch 1.500 in the year 2020 then I say go for it.
