During the first big battle i cant seem to win. I know that its a difficult game and all but either i am getting shot full of arrows or cut to pieces before the Bandit commander. Whenever im fighting him i spawn with embarrasingly low health so one cut from his sword and im finished. How do i do it!? Please help

The Battle of Pribislavitz. You get a quest to scout out the camp before joining an attack to kill the Bandit commander who stoles Henrys sword

As for this fight I dont really know. Maybe you are too weak in stats/gear yet to fight him?
Only advice I remember, is to always always try to aim for his head.
have you done some sabotage? Burned their arrows, poisened their food?
Go in prepaired. Try wearing some chainmail, headarmor, etc. Shoot them from afar.
For the “wight” or “Wicht” use reposte and fast attacks.
reposte, stab, hit, retreat. Rinse and repeat

I saw another post saying that sabotaging their camp wont make a difference in the battle. i tried burning all their arrows and poisoning their food but ultimately there will still be the same amount of soldiers
Update: i managed to get to the final battle with a relatively good amount of health. I found that staying behind the other soldiers Will generaly help but always keep moving because for me there was a cuman glitched under the ground who kept hitting me. At the camp you need to burn the stack of hay before entring where the wagon was blocking and try and engage enemies who are already being attacked by your soldiers. When storming the church i had to hug the wall where the Archers where and use my bow to engage enemies so i wouldnt loose the battle (not engaging om combat will cost you too many men and you’ll lose). Now at the final battle i still have not managed to get the commander under half his health but im getting there
SPOILER* When fist scouting th camp you can enter via a small opening in a burned out house, where there is a trunk filed with cuman gear, put on the gear and they leave you alone. If some one talks to you just growl at them.
Then you can contunue to posion the food and burn arrows.
No archers when you go there + have decent armor and sword + bow. Hit them from afar with bow, poison your sword drink buck blood potion and bring enuf merigold concotion and digestion potion. Also drink these befor getting in combat , you cant when fighting.
The way I killed him when starting on low health is when the fight begins, use a health potion, and when fighting him just wait for the perfect block and then attack, keep doing that.
I had three health. Tried a mace. Fought for a while, and died.
I always had a marigold potion that I used before the fight. After two or three times with the mace I tried the sword.
Lucky maybe, killed him in about 30 seconds. One clinch and I got him square on the head.
I have the same problem. But I have done the mission and sabotaged but the mission fails anyway. And when the battle starts it lasts for 1,5 minutes and then it says that too many men has died. But now one has died!? There must be a bug ??
Shoot him in the face. You can cheese anyone in the game this way
