I've noticed something disturbing!

Been playing since release and am really loving everything about the game. However, I’ve slowly noticed something wrong and unnatural about this world I’ve been role playing in. I’m not sure who is too blame, or maybe there is a strange genetic disorder in these towns but where are all the children???

Oh wait that’s the kids of today.

I think it’s the same reason seen in any other open world game - no children - why? Because some douche would call it really offensive and bad to kill kids for fun right?

In Grand Theft Auto there are no kids as well, are kids in Skyrim? Imagine the wave of idiots blaming Warhorse for blessing player the opportunity to kill young people in their game, not worth it I guess.

Backlash from a lot more pc idiots and feminists than they’re already dealing with right now. Nobody needs the kind of a headache for one feature

There are children in skyrim, and they made them invisible.
I say it is a little more effort to make this sort in this game as well.
Stuff for developers.

There are children in Skyrim… You can adopt them…

There’s kids in AC - Origins also. In one mission some dudes even kill a kid by throwing her off the deep end of a pier with a rock tied to her feet. Pretty brutal I guess, but noone has been butthurt about it as far as I know.

There’s bound to be a mod adding kids in this game.

There are kids in the Witcher 3, invincible and annoying.

That’s because everything can die, and dead children in games are forbidden in many countries, so it’s the economically right decision to just leave them out.
Do you think it’s more immersive if there are immortal children running around?

Agree. We don’t need kids in this game. What we do need are wolves and foxes, and bears, and badgers. All with their own a.i routines for us to marvel at.

certain companies get a free pass because they own part of the gaming media which reports and perpetuates these types of stories and help the morality police gain traction. war horse is being realistic. they do not have the presence and the resources at the moment to get away with it

Nope, just throwing it out there that Witcher 3 has 'em and they are pointless aside from a few minor quest tie-ins.

Not saying I care much either way but it couldn’t hurt the immersion aspect of the game to have a few kids walking around the town’s here and there. As far as “dead video-game kids” causing bad publicity they could always just make it so the kids can’t be attacked/shot at followed by Henry saying something like “I can’t hurt a child” or “that’s not right”.

Just my 2 cents.

Well I was thinking that it might be a great side quest, if you discover that a local preist/man of the cloth has kidnapped all of the children and is having his way with them. Although deeply disturbing, it would correctly display the mentality of the church and realism of the times. Heck, the dirty church fuckers are still touching kids to this day so…

Actually not everything can die at all. The game physically stops you from swinging a sword or firing an arrow at key NPCS. Even if you annoy them and they start to attack you, you still can’t attack them back…

So they could have done the same with children they just got lazy and now everyone’s using killing kids is too much as an excuse.

They could add kids pretty easily, I would think a mod would be released pretty soon. The modder would probably even put in quests with kids maybe even a Robin hood kind of quest?

Cant believe you miss kids while you cant make a camp fire, put down a sleeping bag and tent, cant sit down in the woods, cant load a corpse up on your horse, cant walk besides your horse while holding it reins, have an option in a conversation like “whats going on in…” and EVERY NPC have the exact same lines repeated over and over again. This game pretend to me so imersive, but when you get your 100h in it really trying to immerse your self you see how shallow it really is.

Have you played any of the following and then felt the need to make a thread similar on the appropriate forum :

COD
Fallout
Skyrim
the witcher
AssCreed
Far Cry
Watch Dogs
Deus Ex
Dantes Inferno (Surely there are school shooters in hell, right?)

if not, then shut up and take your double standards to the “Im with her” or “Oprah for 2020” sub-reddits

Seriously? You know the answer. You didn’t “slowly notice”, either. Your post indicates you are intelligent. You can’t also be dumb at the same time so I won’t believe it. In the 21st century the subject of children in videogames has been brought up, discussed, warmed over, re-hashed and rinsed, washed, and repeated. Many modern video games that feature some kind of violence sidestep the subject of children.

We all already know that every group of game developers make a decision re: inclusion of children. Some percentage of the fan or user base always asks “why can’t they just include children” if they are absent. There is a veritable galaxy of reasons and rationalizations about how and why children could have easily been added by the dumb old ignorant shortsighted timid and weak devs, and no I never did state that you posted any of those things. I merely said it existed.

Whether it’s by making them an option, or making them invulnerable or any other way, people always say “but why why why just do this this this”. And “But Skyrim has them” is now a wonderful argument. Again, I didn’t state that you said that.

We can all state a dozen modern videogames that lack children. KC:D is not unique or novel in that regard. This very forum has at any given time a good half dozen threads going on that have at least something to do with the lack of several things in the game, among them children. Would I like their inclusion? You bet!

The ultimate decision by the dev team was based on more than internet bullshittery by laymen who rationalize. Their own descriptions of why are on this forum and anyone with the pluck of a weevil in a biscuit can dedicate ten minutes of his or her life finding them.

yeah yeah, an unpopular word wall. I wrote a book. Those of us who can type are so rare and gifted.
