Juddery Graphics?

Genuine question: are people finding this game has bad framerate and looks just that little bit juddery? My PC is pretty damn good. Not top of the line, but pretty much was when I bought it a year ago. Most new games I can crank up to ultra with no issues. This one, even on medium, feels a little weird. It’s almost not noticeable. Very subtle. But it feels that way.

Is it my rig? If so, I’m not going to complain about it. It’s kind of cool if computers that involved purchase of a time machine can really shine. But I certainly wasn’t expecting MEDIUM to be troublesome with my rig.

I ask this because if it’s due to buggyness I’ll probably get back to Shadow of the Colossus until they release a few patches for this. I can always satisfy my lust for medieval mayhem with Mount and Blade.

Seems the game is extremely badly optimized right now. I’m running a high end setup as well, and should not be getting these crappy framerates. I’ve stopped playing until they fix it, which is a damn shame.

I’m trying to keep my peace about this and will plug away at it but I have to say the optimization is really poor. This was my main concern for the game and sure enough, my fears prove true. The game needs major performance improvements. I’ve three or four other cryengine games that run at 60 fps at very high to almost max settings and with a higher fidelity of graphics and consistency than KC right now. To me it looks like they needed to have done a better job running it through more optimizing procedures before releasing it. I’m also having a very annoying keybinding bug. The reset function is refusing to work but even worse, when I literally have no conflicts it will tell me I have conflicts. I can manually check to verify this and try only one change at a time and it will give me a conflict message and there are not even any red highlights.

Back to the main issue at hand though, I dearly hope Warhorse will do right by us and continue to support the game and to work on its substantial performance issues. I have:

Windows 7 64bit
Core i7 4790k 4@4Ghz
EVGA GTX 970 4GB
16GB Ram

Like I said I have other cryengine games that are optimized and perform accordingly so I can’t accept a “get a better graphics card” answer. That is not an answer nor is it valid. Between other cryengine games and things like Witcher 3 which I run at 60fps at very High with some Ultra settings my 970 is more than capable and should be for KC as well.

I still believe there’s a jewel of a game within that I’m willing to work at to get to but please Warhorse Studios, iron out these performance issues for us because they do exist and they need addressing. If anyone has any tips in the mean time that would be great. I’m still going to piddle around with it, get the lastest Nvidia driver and poke around with my Nvidia settings and see what I can see.

Some time ago, 1 week+ I got a NVidia update for Kingdom Come with optimized settings. Check your GeForce Experience for that one!

I have a GTX780 and the game runs smooth, although not on the higher settings obviously! I also have Win 7 x64 and 16GB of RAM btw. I have not noticed any significant FPS drops yet (but I’ve yet to leave the first location).

I won’t use Nvidia Experience. I’m going to try a newer driver tomorrow but the game needs work.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’m going to try leaving the textures where they are and lowering the resolution. Or just cranking it right down. Graphics don’t matter to me compared with gameplay. I got this on PC for the superior graphics though so the lack of it is pretty annoying. I have:

Core i7-6700 3.4ghz 4 cores, 8 logical processors
GTX 1060 6GB
16GB RAM

So not 100% top spec but I can run Witcher 3 on Ultra without difficulty, and I make the PS4 look like it’s from caveman times.
