Being honest I have not even played the beta yet for KC… I probably won’t… I will be playing the game when it comes out for PS4. I have always wanted a realistic medieval game and perhaps down the road the NEW developers will come up with a KC: Kingdoms or something making a strategy and RPG based game. Would be cool to rule and a kingdom but working your way up there to the top to get there. Romance options and being able to have children and watching them grow older would be neat, being able to train your child to fight with you or have some part within the story sandox. interaction with a family. being more involved than fable and the Sims. We are playing a medieval game, y’all
the nudity rumor could be a good idea, although uneeded and too much rendering… maybe a (DLC) would be good for that … so it is optional. being able to buy estates and have people looking after and tending to them. That would be nice. If you are going to make it realistic make small improvements like that. Keep at it KC team! Hurry up. Waiting for what you have to offer.
If I have any logic ideas for you, I can let you know? Alright?
Sorry for all the post but I just would like to say that I did not mean to rush you… Just looking forward to what outstanding ideas y’all have already implemented. I would rather you spend another year and have the game running stunningly than to rush through it and the game be full of bugs.
Would like to thanks the KC team for hard work and dedication to making this happen.
Hi,
Thanks for the support!
Though, what you are suggesting is bit different from the idea behind this game.
And the initial idea is to tell players about actual historical events that actualy took palce.
That is why you wont be able to become a noble, build armies and sack any town you want.
KC:D is really “just” action adventure RPG with open world features.
What you are suggesting is more like Mount and Blade.
I understand what you are saying… However; I still think that after this game is out on the market you could start creating a whole new KC2 or something allowing players start out as prince and then soon after a king, ruling a kingdom, looking after it’s people like fable III for example. Fable III was great except for the magic and the lack of the ability of things to do right after the player was crowned. Just a thought down the road.
as far as the upcoming game, the ability to have a family, build, craft, train, and renovate homes for profit or living space… would be nice. maybe as a DLC after the game comes out to add the ability to raise live stock for profit. that would be a neat add-on. Adding more quest is seems like a tremendous idea. Keep expanding!
Side Note: Mount &Blade is fantastic game but lacks in so many areas… Maybe I am thinking way out of the box and craving for the crown… What kind of improvements are we looking at coming towards the end of 2016?
The thing is that after release of this game this year. There will be part two and three. And after that I’d expect a new game, but still continuation of the story. But this time about actual Hussite war.
I could be wrong with the plan, but as far as I know, no planning for open world sandbox strategy RPG game is cannon.
Oh okay. It will be just like most all of the the game developers… focusing on profit rather than quality and freedom for the gamers? Sound pretty typical to me… Do not get me wrong history lessons are fun, and exciting … but take out the magic spells and unrealistic fighting most medieval driven games… and you get one heck of a game. Great discussion! Hmmmm … Now I am not too sure on this game… What I was hoping for probably wont be in there but I will continue to watch for the latest updates for KC: Deleverance.
There was just no other way to finance this project. Without cutting the game into parts, no one would finance it. Our plan was to make it in one big game, but we were not able to do it and we have to make this compromise. This was the only way to convince the investor.
Freedom doesn´t automatically mean quality. I am personally tired of all those epic open worlds to craft your own (shitty and generic) story.
I want nice, personal, touching and thought-through storyline, ideally with many choices and consequences, so I can return to it, like I return to good books.
Also profit can mean higher quality of next game (or atleast any next game). So yeah, profit is definitely something which is worth pursuing, you can find many indie games which are profitless, so have a look how that work out for them
I am not saying that freedom is quality… I was simply stating that a good game like Mount and Blade. Good quality, Nice thoughts, fair structure… and decent story-line for the time that the game was developed. I believe it to be possible with the current up-coming game, KC to have the quality that it needs to keep the reader(gamer) interested in how he would live the life of a knight, nobleman, squire, peasant or king for that matter. I am tired of all those open world games as well. They say they offer a lot of adventure and freedom to do whatever… consequences or not. I am not too big on dragons. I like things to be real or close to real. I just hope that it is not a narrow story-line making it only go one direction… You may not believe me on this but it would be nice to have a game developer that actually seeks the freedom for what the reader(gamer) desire craves for. to play how he sees fit. He wants to be a knight… hes gotta work to get there… If he want to clean up shit… he can do that… maybe not that literal, but you get my point. Summing all this up… From several people who spoke to me, this game might be good for when a history is on the mind. Keeping in mind that a game can be made real to it’s time without using history. Think about some of movies they make during this time. Real time… their own story. It is okay if you do not see my point. Ask anyone you see if someone want a free roam game that tells your own story with near no limitations, but yet be a living world that is apparent to the 13th and 14th century. I want to be apart of the story… not staring at it. Understand… Don’t you want to be apart of the story… You see that is the problem with most game developers now… They do not allow gamer be apart of the story even when they say you can. Look, I am probably repeating myself a lot in this forum but…Like I said. We will see. Who knows maybe there will be more to it than I thing there will be.
Sounds like you need to get yourself in the world of video game development. Those are pretty interesting ideas, but perhaps they don’t apply to Kingdom Come and may be suitable in another type of game. By the way, profit is good, these guys work hard and if they see a profit for their hard work we will see more games from them and who knows what the future will bring as they build their company. Cheers!
Oh no… haha profit is good no doubt… We all have to make money on what we have well earned… Just tired of the generic stuff. :-/ We are in the 2016… Where are all those brilliant ideas going? I mean the ones I have mentioned… into the dumpster of impossibilities? Going a bit off topic, I understand… Sounds lazy… and all of it sounds easier said then done. It does seem like I should be in the video game development realm, doesn’t it?.Yesss. ChEErs to them! At least they are trying… I will give them that. SHit! IF I had my own developing company, we’d be feasting together in the same room for our bountiful ideals of realism and geniusness. Oh well at least its another story for later. haha
This has been a very good discussion for me. Thanks ya’ll!
And Scotchdew If only you were the first to reply. I agreed/ agree with you fully. My ideas never really had anything to do with the game… but hey… maybe its a small whispering hint to them to take some notes. I can tell you that I like the developers idea of realism. ChEErs to that!
Actually I have seen a lot of similar ideas on this forum.[quote=“Lonewolf4031, post:14, topic:25658”]
If only you were the first to reply.

Well, I am sorry to be the one who crushed your dreams
In fact, this is like the MOST common suggestion to be found here…
Definitely top 10 among
"Chivalry type or any other type of control in combat" (usually much worse than current system)
“Blood and gore” (splashes of blood and dismemberement in plate armor… huh. Just minor increase would be fine)
“Being a nobleman, king, bla bla” (wrong game pals)
“Creating family, producing kids, building of houses etc” (play sims plea)
“Even more realism - carry limits, tougher fights, more means to die, super hardcore hunting etc” (making game almost unplayable, or atleast unenjoyable)
“More variety of people, dogs, kids…” (usually nonsense or controversial)
“Killing blows, killing moves, sneak kills, assasin gameplay” (mostly present even in kickstarter video)
“More weapons, special interactions, more halfswording, more techniques” (when we have so many confirmed already)
“I would love to play as -class XY-” (in classless game)
Did I forgot something?
I think that I heard all of these suggestions atleast three times each, so yeah… nothing special. Some are atleast somewhat reasonable (there really isn´t much blood now, and controls can fuck you up more than once per fight) but most of them feel like they belong to completely other game (nobleman and “sims” bs…)
All I want to really know is, if they will use my suggestion to utilize beer as “savegame potion” for saving in wilderness… so immersive, so realistic, so gamechanging!

I think you left out Multiplayer.
It all depends on what saving system they will choose. But thats bit off topic now.
Oh yeah, multiplayer…
Although, having somebody do some “arena mod” for 1v1 would be really cool after release :))
Regarding the saving system, I currently thing they will really choose just standart save anywhere system, and it would be probably for the best
To the OP: There’s nothing wrong in theory with a ‘M&B’-type sandbox game in a historical setting, but this particular game has never been pitched that way. The Kickstarter campaign made it clear that this is a story-based RPG, and thousands of people backed it on that basis. Changing it into something completely different, if that were even possible, would be highly unfair to the backers who funded it in the first place.
Slightly OT: this kind of request is so common on these forums that it’s got me thinking. Can anyone think of any actual examples from that era (c. 1400) of a peasant/commoner rising to nobility through military conquest, which might serve as the basis for a video game? The only one that comes to mind is Francesco Sforza, whose family were originally farmers (though they were wealthy landowners, rather than peasants as is sometimes reported). And even in his case there was a whole lot of politics going on; he didn’t just go out and conquer everything. Any other ideas?
Don’t have a source at hand, but true military skills/activity - yes.
The scottish king was captured during a battle that followed Crecy… the man-at-arms who captured him got a title as a reward.
I also believe Henry V knighted some common men (captains who had retinues) at Agincourt.
John Hawkwood might also be one. His exact background it not really known but no evidence that he was a noble when he started his military career.
