Playing on Xbox here, but I was having a cigarette and decided to just hold the B button to keep my horse at a canter while I used my left hand to smoke.
Turns out your horse will automatically stay on a path, turning when needed to remain on course, even without use of the left thumbstick. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Update: This works in cities like Rattay as well.
It’s the small details like this that make me love this game.
When you first start riding a horse, there’s a pop-up box that explains this along with the bit that the better your horse, the lesser paths they will still be able to follow without you needing to guide them. Im not sure which attribute does it, but that’s as deep as the info went from what I remember.
There are a lot of really good tidbits that pop up when you first experience a new part of the game and I believe all of the tips go into your codex or something
They do, there’s a whole Section called Tutorials…
still have to be a little careful using autopathing around people. the horse can bump into some and that seems to hurt your reputation

agree though wish they tweaked the pathing at pivot points so it wasnt so much like an old amusement park ride
True that. But how often is one going to play one handed unless smoking or having a drink?
