KC:Deliverance ready by the end of 2015?

Hello guys,
there are only 10 months remaining till the end of the year and the promised in Kickstarter release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

The lack of updates and info lately makes me a little worried about the short time left for development and the small progress made toward release since version 0.2.1. Two months passed since the last update and it was only a small bugfix. With all due respect toward @warhorse, I think Deliverance couldn’t be finished by the promised date, at least with that tempo.

Maybe a delay is better that rushing an unfinished product, but nonetheless I’ll be glad if any info was available about the progress on the game. I know the team gives their best for the game, just saying…

Thank you!

This is the alpha stage there will not be frequent updates or much content outside of core mechanics.

Its not until the beta (projected release Q3 2015), which is similar to the state of games in steams Early Access that you should expect frequent updates.

The team has stated that they intend to release updates approx. every two months, the alpha was released in October the first update was in December and the next update is supposed to come sometime in March (assuming toward the end of the month because the last update came out on the 22nd).

If you follow WH on twitter and Facebook they have been actively doing interviews with different media groups revealing small tidbits on new info about the game. No major news but they aren’t being silent either.

10 months may not seem like much time but you have to take into account the level of info and content we have not been exposed to. As backers we have access to more info then the general public but there’s still things that need to stay behind the curtain for all we know they are working a semi complete build already.

I personally don’t believe we will get away without a delay of some kind whether it be a week or a month but that’s because I understand how game development works and that the date we were given was a projection, thus is why they didn’t give us a month and day.

Only time will tell. Patience however with this game is hard I started asking for an update a week or so ago.

10 months is plenty of time. this isn’t ubisoft who announces games 2 years before they are released, and one year before they even begin work. a lot of the work is already done.

We are still here, still working and still progressing! Right now we are preparing the Tech Alpha 0.3 with the Lock picking feature. There is also, of course, a video update and another special video in the pipeline (filming it today hopefully) ! So don’t worry. You’ll get that information you desire!

I admit it’s definitely difficult to be patient, but I would rather it be delayed than rush out an unfinished product. With that said, it better be out in December!!

“We unfortunately do not know yet and we do not want to say if it will be January, February, or March 2016. We will, ofcourse, announce the date, but we do not know it yet.” from the “New interview with Daniel Vávra”, the topic is here on the forum now.

I imagine, what they want to do is get as much advertisment for the game, that its “still coming out this year guys”, get into “most anticipated games of 2015” and get overall hype for the game leading to the “release”. Then you say, you are sorry it will take few more months to perfect it, don’t want to rush… bla bla and you have hype, people know about you and you can relaese game in season that makes sense. December 2015 reelase… open world game, fixing bugs, no holidays for the team and also missing out on Best games of 2015 and other possible awards, because they came out too late in the year.

Unfortunately, you sound true…

I think what they want to do is perfect the game. So much they have to do for it, different classes, different play styles, the combat i think is the trickiest of them all. It takes time.

Games get delayed all the time. Im sure the majority of the people supporting this game will understand. I dont see why people are trying to get them to shove this game out the door right at december. I would much rather have a game be delayed then rushed out like most games now a days.

I won’t be disappointed if they end up having to push back the release date a few months. If anything, many recent releases have told me it’s far better to push back a release date and polish a game than to release an unpolished one. Releasing an unpolished/broken game would be far more harmful to Warhorse’s reputation than would be delaying the game a little. Plus we gamers would get a better game out of it in the long run.
