Kcd2 update

Is there any new information about a possible kcd2?

KCD is less than one year old

Yes I know not that one is about to come out just are they plannin on doing another or not

They are surely planning but there is no talk about it in studio, or is it? We can not know. Pointless to debate about it till they release their last DLC.

Take a look of this video

Dan says that they can make a new game (min 0:52) so, yes, they will, but first they must polish KCD

I think that a lot of work they are doing now (finxing bugs) is something that KCD2 will also benefit from. It will use same engine and encounter same problems. What they solve now, that would not need to be solved later in sequel.

I already thought there were Polish subtitles.

This is what Klima was talking about. They want to be studio known for quality game and they also have a lot of adjustments to their engine they want to stick to it.

polish = “the quality of having been done in a way that shows skill and experience”. It’s also a tool to be used for making things look clean and smooth.

New COD and BF come out every year so its not a thing anymore to wait five years for a sequel.

Warhorse Studios has a crew of ~60 people afaik.

DICE (the Battlefield studio) has ~350 people and no, they don’t relase a new game every year.
BF3: 2011
BF4: 2013
BF Hardline: 2015 (made by Visceral Games, DICE only helped them)
BF1: 2016
BF V: 2018

And Call of Duty
Three different studios are working on Call of Duty to allow them to have a new release every year. It wouldn’t be possible with one studio.

Even 120 is nothing compared to DICE or the three Activision studios. And none of them is able to release a new game every single year.

They have that “Bastards” storyline on the way soon. It’s my opinion that for a brand new studio, especially one so minimally staffed (watch their pre release Dev vids. Small crew) they put out an above average game. I’m biased towards realism, historical accuracy, new fighting mechanics, and quest-heavy RPG’s, so tldr: this new, first timer, small staffed, outside the US based studio has made my new favorite game.
I’d rather wait for a polished product than an annual iteration that hardly deviates from a tired format.

quality vs. quantity??

Gues why Assasains Creed had to stop making sequels every year

Just saying its possible for a dev to release a game every year.

For a AAA studio with different teams (100+) people working on it? Yes
of course, I’m not saying Warhorse can’t do a game every year, but I bet they won’t, game studios like Warhorse Studios and Larian Studios know that it’s better to work in quality and not in quantity.

how much did KCD cost? $5mil? how much revenue has been generated since release? how much is left over after paying bills/investors? how much is current overhead? what’s the next engine that WH’s going to pick and its associated cost (or is WH going to build own and how much will that cost)? is there a storyboard (or whatever) for the next installment? will it be launched on consoles (if so, is it worth waiting for next gen consoles to ‘do it right’
Bethesda and next Elder Scrolls comes to mind)? i’d be surprised if new game came within 3 yrs of last KCD DLC

Yes, but then we get abortions like the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
