Kingdom Come: Loading Screen Simulator (Xbox)

I want to love this game so much but there’s so much that doesn’t work with it I can’t, not like I loved games like Skyrim or Oblivion.
First off: the loading screens. The fucking loading screens. What’s the need for such long loading screens? You load up the game, loading screen of some story I’m getting fed up of hearing. You press continue, a loading screen (so what was the first one loading?). You wait/sleep, loading screen. You enter or leave a conversation, loading screen.
Second: the combat system is nigh on broken in a fight against more than one person. 1v1 it’s fine, I love the challenge. But as soon as you enter a bandit camp and have two or three coming at you it’s impossible. You lock onto one guy, and your camera changes to someone lateral to him when you try to aim? It messes up your flow, and doesn’t do what you want it to, leaving you wide open to get raped by the guy you were originally targeting.
Third: the crashes. After playing for around 20 hours I’ve had 4 hard crashes, setting me back about 30-45 minutes each time. Which brings me onto my next issue: the save system. How does it work? When does it save? You’re not told. As expected it saves after you sleep, but apart from that it just feels like it saves after the odd quest or conversation. I understand not to have a quick save system, but why not save it after every fast travel as well? Or when you enter/leave a castle/town/village?

Forgive me for wanting the world, but I paid full price to expect a game of full price polish. At the moment it feels like a game preview game to the standard of Conan: Exiles with the potential to be better than a Bethesda game.

Correction: 5 hard crashes in 21 hours. Unacceptable.

And now you turn into superman when you try to use the alchemy table north of Talmberg. Jesus Christ.

I’ve being playing this game with over 60 hours now and everything works perfectly fine on the Xbox one s. Yes there are a few minor bugs but this is initial release, what do you expect. And as for the loading screens… go play Skyrim or oblivion as you said and every house and cave and castle has a loading screen. Everything is OPEN in this world. And the loading screens in game are short. So what do you expect for the initial load of the game to be instant? - they have to load the entire OPEN world.

Not sure why you haven’t learned to NOT expect “full price polish” on a game that’s been out for 3 days… this game is amazing and with the community feedback and time it will be a masterpiece. Probably already paved the way and set the bar for future games!

Simple bugs are fine. Like not being able to walk up certain flights of stairs. But bugs like the alchemy one where you fly into the air unless you exit, only to fall and lose 45 minutes of progress is just frustrating.

Live, learn, don’t repeat. Lots to do until they fixed it. I haven’t even touched alchemy yet and I didn’t find out about that bug until about 40-50 hours of gameplay. Too busy doing other fun things.

Lol I’ve just had my 6th hard crash. Nothing to do with my console, it’s a 2 month old Xbox One S with a 3 month old external HDD. It’s crashed when on my horse, waking up, fast travelling, talking, fighting. The resource management in general for the game is terrible.

I’ve had zero hard crashes on my Xbox one S

~ 63 hours player so far…

7, 25 hours, one every 3.5 hours :upside_down_face:

The Wait Game. Need lock picks for starter missions because your lock pick skill is 0? Fast Travel to Talemburg and watch the guy walk for 5 minutes. Done? Now watch another 5 minutes as he walks back. Lock picks broke because the lock pick system is screwed up for console? Ouch…repeat that 10 minute trip because the autosave only works if you sleep 8 hours.

-.-

I’ve killed over 100 bandits and Cumans and they drop lockpicks, I have 60 lockpicks

New Character. No one is low enough to farm like that. Also, I’ve waited and slept for 4 days with no auto save activating

Yeah I’m still not sure how it activates. It seems to more often than not when I sleep, but sometimes it doesn’t. I had around 20 lockpicks, and blew them all on the ancient map V chest which had a very hard lock, lol. I don’t use them as much as I did in early game. I think I’m around half way through now.

Oh what a shock. I die after a long 15 minutes battle and another FUCKING crash. I’m sorry but you can’t even put this down to “just a release bug” because it’s not. They haven’t bothered properly optimising the game for the Xbox’s capabilities. It’s that simple. Very poor on Warhorse’s behalf.

P.S.: for reference, that’s 8 hard crashes in 24.8 hours of game time (according to the in game stats). One crash every 3 hours, setting me back on average 35 minutes per crash. 4.5 hours of lost progress. 4.5 hours of wasted time.

I will never understand how most gamers these days have come to accept that games are released with problems. They act like it’s wrong for people to expect a complete, working, finished game on release. As if being sold broken or unfinished games is the acceptable norm/, as if thats just how it is, and you’re the ridiculous one for wanting to purchase a complete and functional product.

I can’t really tell whether you’re agreeing with me here or not? Lol. Starts off like you are but the last sentence throws it off, if it had a question mark you would? Anyway, I’ll assume you are agreeing:
While games these days are substantially bigger than 10-15 years ago, they also have studios 10-15x bigger, so when games back in the PS2 days, when I started properly gaming, were released there was no chance of an update. They were what they were. Imagine some of the games released today being released then with the bugs they come with on release, prior to patches… I’d say 10-20% of full release games would have to be recalled and refunddd because of game breaking bugs. We’re accustomed to patches so much so that now we’ll “just wait” for it to be fixed… it shouldn’t be broke in the first place!
This isn’t a dig at Warhorse, they haven’t done that bad a job. But imagine if these crashes happened back in 2002, when there was nothing that could be done with patches, etc… The studio would go straight under from the reimbursement. If we have to wait more than a few weeks for this patch I’ll be questioning the commitment of the studio to respond to the game’s current problems. Until then, good luck!

11 hard crashes in 29 hours. Can’t play more than 2 hours without it crashing. I’ll be selling the game and buying it back when you decide to fix it. Absolute joke.

Same story for the PS4 unfortunately. I was stuck in a loop of constant crashes with an fmv at one point. Watching the fmv crashed my ps every time. Had to skip it, but the the game slowed down to a slide show for about 30mins until it sorted itself out, during this time people didn’t speak during cut scenes and the game would freeze every 5 mins or so for 10 seconds. Very annoying.

I unfortunately bought the game from the ps store and rang Sony about a refund (yes I know their policy of no refunds but thought I’d try) the bloke basically said games are expected to have bugs when they first release (haha. What?) He then said they will only refund if the developers email me admitting that their game is broken (yes I’m sure they will do this, thanks Sony lol). I asked if Sony even vet games before they sell them on the store because this reflects badly for them selling the game at full price and the bloke said sometimes we do… And went on to explain all games are expected to have a few bugs on release and this is the first complaint he’s heard of on this game since its release. I highly doubt this.

I’m very angry I paid full price for this game, it’s so broken and buggy :frowning:
