No one claimed that it was. Notice how he said your typical console gamer is on the weaker end of tech savvy, not “console people don’t know shit about technology”. It’s a fair assumption that people who actually build their gaming platform know just a bit more about tech, than someone who buys a pre built console from Target.
When did i claim that it didn’t exist? All i said was you seem to accuse anyone who criticizes consoles, or disagrees with you of being an “elitist”. It’s hard to take you seriously when you act like the people who just call the person they’re debating a Nazi.
Well considering how often you use that word, it’s hard for me to tell whether or not you’re joking.
You know what they say about people who assume… Also, you can purchase pre-built PCs too, not to mention gaming laptops.
I never said you claimed it didn’t exist. I suggested you not act like it doesn’t. Not all PC gamers have elitist attitudes. Most of them also own consoles, as I have come to notice. But there are a large swath of PC gamers who DO have elitist attitudes towards console gamers and it’s annoying.
@Alabie may not be one of those people, and the intention of his post probably wasn’t meant to be insulting and/or condescending, but it’s the aura of this whole conversation, where people are whining about a delay, and blaming consoles, and acting like the PC version is so superior, “How DARE THEY delay the release because some peasant console version”… so to speak.
Typically, smiley faces are a means to depict emotion, intent, tone, etc. This is a something a tech savvy person like you ought to know by now.
That shouldn’t be insulting, you’re obviously not a typical console gamer. Sorry about that. I didn’t generalize which is why I said typical, meaning not all but a significant majority. I play PC but I also play console with some of my real life friends. They never hear about any indie games im talking about unless they were on TV or on the xbox dashboard. They’re not browsing gaming subreddits or Youtube.
For the record I’m all for consoles. Building PCs and having to maintain them is annoying, but I do it because consoles tend to give me a headache due to their fps and resolution. I’m excited to see what microsoft will do with their new approach to Xbox.
Care for PC and milk consoles.
I like it that way.
Rush the console version and release a proper PC game later. That is the way it should be done.
The worst thing to do in my opinion is to deliver the same thing on PC and Console. Some studios do that and it annoys me.
PC’s can do so much more so let Warhorse get some quick money from the consoles and DELIVER a true PC game.
I completely understand both sides, I understand WHs reasons why to hold back the release date and as a backer and PC user only Im also not happy about it. I do apologize if someone suggested this already ( I did not read all posts), but wouldn`t be a good solution (if WH will hold the release date till later) to release at summer something like ,deltaversion for backers? By ,,delta version I mean unpolished, unfinished version (basically whatever will WH have). Then everyone will be happy, backers will have something to play and WH will have more time to finish it.
Ok, how about this then? Because I was looking forward to playing it on my COMPUTER I want to withdraw my pledge and get a refund as I will not be able to play the game I am backing when promised. If 1/3 of your total revenue back out your funding plummets and you will be releasing even later than your greedy marketing tactic forecasts.
Any other PC gamers want a refund?
I think some of the fears are warranted, I myself am also a PC Gamer and I think some are worried about a masterpiece of a game taking a similar route as say Watchdogs.
I backed the game knowing this would be released for console as well, but many publishers seem to want developers to compromise quality because either the xbox or playstation hardware cant handle the newer games or they want timed exclusive to claim it is reaching as many fans as possible.
Watch dogs development team was very open at the beginning of development and made a lot of promises and then their own PR from ubisoft denied any downgrades or changes.
I am not comparing ubisoft and warhorse as I have faith Warhorse will provide a quality game, just that i sometimes become tired of the console holding back everything because of its limitations and the attention and preference consoles tend to get.
I understand business needs and that the kickstarter funds are minimal compared to what investors put up, but we all put in funds to support this project. No disrespect intended, just please dont let console dictate the direction of the PC release.
What are you talking about? I see more elitism from xbox and playstation fans showing comparison videos and bragging about exclusives. Most PC owners dont carr, we simply want to utilize the best out of our hardware.
Why people see this as such a problem? I don’t get it. Few months later and we will get more polished game. This is first Warhorse game. They need it to be success.
So I don’t see a problem to wait a little. If it helps their sales (and critics as polishing helps a lot) and thus help them to continue in what they are doing. Because that’s why I backed - for their games and visions, not exact release dates.
calm down man, they are new to the market so they are just trying to do what´s best for them and us, and i know it sucks that it might take longer time, but in the end its a win-win situation for all of us
And you really think we will put the rough polished PC version away into a cupboard while we will work on Console version? If we have more time, we will use this time.
We will not accept bad conditions that will make the game worse. This game was not build by people who wanted to milk the marked, but who believed in the idea of this game. We had much more easy ways to make a profitable game in the first place, and now we are in the strong position to get good conditions. If we decide to go the way of giving the game more time, then for the reason of getting an advantage out of it to make the best game possible.
