There’s a lantern in the game, but sadly only NPCs can carry it. Would be cool if someone modded it to be useable for player character. Maybe also buff it a little

That shouldn’t be too hard to do, why don’t you give it a try? All you probably will need to do is change the model of the torch item to the lantern model, and then use the character tool to edit the animation so its held correctly. I’ve thought having a lantern in game would be cool as well.
I might try. Isn’t animation in the game already though? Pretty sure first person animation you see on the screen are the same animations NPCs use. Not sure how the latern is handled though. If its a hidden item the NPCs use, or is just an animation with object attached?
The animation does exist, you just have to replace the torch animation with it.
