For roleplaying purpose, I want to let certain people die a painful death but can still loot their belongings. I think a simple code change would do that, so please add the option. 
You can loot bodies without having mercy killed them…
You can if they’re unconscious, or die, but not while they’re dying, which I think is fine. Have you ever tried to loot someone as they’re in their death throws? It makes it really difficult to take off their hose.

if they are in a mercy-killable state, they’ll die on their own pretty soon. also, realistically it’s pretty hard to thoroughly loot somebody who’s convulsing in pain and bleeds profusely.
Just stab m a few times they will die without mercy

poison your weapon with Bain, they “pass away” quicker. Pro-Bain if your on PC and use the poison mod.
I just stand there and in about 20 seconds …… but I use Pro-Bain.
Makes chasing easier too if you get a strike on them before they run.
