How exactly does reading skill get increased? Is it only when reading a book for the first time or can you the same ones over and over again?
I’ve taken some books back to the mill where my bed is located. The “reading spot” icon appears when I sit in the bed. When I read sitting there, my stats don’t increase.

I’m prrtty sure it’s only once time read. There’s books you can purchase from he scribe they you can essentially only open and manually reads it’s contents. Other books you can study. Both will increase your reading skill. I’ve already gotten the achievement for reading 20 books - which isn’t hard…
Also, any spot you can sit will increase how fast you study a book. However sitting on a comfy bed is best. Doesn’t have to be your bed, rent a bed at any lodging
You purchase books from the scribe… you spend time reading and your level goes up.

You get only EP for finishing to read a “new” books.

Anyone know if there is any benefit to the study books? Besides the Stat/Skill increase (although the exp for that stat skill seems to be not that much)?
Apparently you also get skill points while reading maps. No idea if it is the same amount as book or if every book is equivalent. And possibly you don’t even get experience until you learn how to read from the quest?
Anyway, the last treasure map I opened leveled my reading.
