I’m on the X and before the patch I could do many very hard locks without problem and now they are close to impossible. What gives?
I cannot say for sure but they may have re-balanced it so the earlier locks are much easier and the latter is harder.

I have noticed this as well, i dont mind it to be honest. It took me 20 odd attempts to pick the very hard chest in the huntmaster’s house in Talmberg last night, but i felt so chuffed when i finally broke in! 
I don’t mind it either. I think it would be good for the people trying to learn if it is the way he described it.
