I’ve been playing the game for about 20 hours so far and I’m loving it. Only problem is that lockpicking seems absolutely impossible with a mouse for me. I play with a decent quality gaming mouse, and I always make sure to set my game sensitivity low, and my DPI high to get smooth mouse movement. But when picking locks it seems like my mouse moves at like 10 DPI but with high sensitivity making it impossible. Any tiny movement of the mouse when picking a lock sends the cursor flying outside the spot and I break the pick instantly, and the movement of the cursor is very choppy only when lockpicking. Is this normal, and did anyone else have this problem? Even with a very easy lock I can’t seem to hold the sweet spot at all.
Try when you press d wait a sec and then start making a circle. Keep trying it does take skill and you my not always unlock. Just practice
Even if it’s the easiest kind of lock? I don’t know, it seems like my mouse just doesn’t want to cooperate when picking locks. My mouse becomes basically uncontrollable. I mean it’s more like my mouse just teleports around rather than moving smoothly when lockpicking.
for me its easy with mouse and keyboard
be sure to hold “D” all the time and follow with the mouse
it sounds weird, cant you change your dpi setting?
I use 1800 dpi, havent changed any game setting
I use 3000, but with my game sensitivity set low so it’s smooth. Setting my DPI lower makes the crosshair movement choppy. I haven’t tried picking a lock in a long time because I just gave up on trying. Is there anywhere I can practice lockpicking safely to test out different settings?
yes, go behind miller pesheks house
there is a chest it will lock itself automatically when you close it and look elsewhere for a sec
after you got your first perk it also should get a lot easier
Thanks I’ll try that.
