Lockpicks disapearing from inventory!? No one sells them?

I’ve read a few other ppl having this issue i think but not sure. I keep having my lockpicks disapearing from my inventory! I had finally gathered 10 lockpicks after alot of effort, and after either saving the game or breaking ONE of them (not sure which did it) all lockpicks are gone from my inventory! This has happened twice now!! AND i can’t find ONE single merchant anywhere who sells them!! The guy in Talemberg no longer sell any… No NPC’s have any on them… VERY frustrating!

Anyone else having this issue? I haven’t tried to stash them in my horse’s inv yet because i cannot be bothered to re-load and play several hours AGAIN just for this…
Anyone have any clues to where i can buy them?? EXCEPT THE MILLER? Since all lockpicks keep disapearing i cannot finnish the “Perfect theif” or whatever the quest is called where you are supposed to steal a ring from the exectutioner…
SOMEONE else must be selling them!?

Every time you fail to lockpick, you lose a lockpick

That’s not what i meant. If I have 10 lockpicks in my inventory and fail One then ALL lockpicks disapear from inventory. I then have zero.
I read several others who have this issue…

Are there ANY other merchants who sells them except the Miller and the guy in Talemberg (who no longer has any…). ??

bandits usually have lockpicks on them
its a bug that all lockpicks disappear, whats when you store some of them in your chest or horse?

Yea i figured such, but I havent found any lockpicks on any bandits yet… =(
I havent tried to store them on my horse, because i cant be bothered to re-play several hours of gaming just to figure out where/ when the lockpicks disapeared.
my problem now is that i cannot find new one ANYWHERE…

I killed some bandits yesterday and they had lockpicks
what about the other millers?

Only found one other miller (the one who had captured a Cuman) and he didn’t sell anything, just told me to go to hell.

Went to every single miller now, none of them trade with me. Went to every merchant i can find on the entire map, not ONE has a single lockpick to sell… Went out and killed some bandits too, not ONE had a single lockpick… sigh… I give UP.

I’ve experienced this problem before, I too worked hard to get a bunch lock picks on the early game, only for them to disappear whenever I loaded a save. It didn’t matter whether it was an auto save from a quest or schnapps or sleeping, they would disappear every time I loaded any save. I even replayed from the beginning from scratch to wade through the bug to no avail. In the end, I gave up on it. I was at the point in the game where Peshek gives you the first quest to retrieve the ring from the executioner. He asked me if knew how unlock chests with lock picks, I said I didn’t and he gave 10 picks. I put that quest on hold to move on with the main story, specifically the hunt with Hans and after a few auto saves and a sleeping save where you stop to camp, the picks finally became permanent in my inventory. I could load in just fine from auto save or sleeping save.

TL, DR: acquire some picks and play a few quests to get the game to save with the picks in your inventory and maybe try to sleep during the quests and it might work.

My lockpicks disappeared a day or two ago, took me a while to notice since I suck at lockpicking and don’t use it much. I had about 20-30 and now I have one. I thought I’d accidentally sold them.

I’m not sure about it since I actually never bought lockpicks but do the blacksmiths maybe sell them?

complete the miller questline where you have to talk to the other miller. he will sell you 20 lockpicks and then peshek will have 20 picks you can buy from him after that as well.
