So after the latest patch (PS4) I’ve tried this mission again and you still can’t return the bowl, so my question is: If I dig a bone and give it to the guard will he still yell at me for not returning the bowl? (Pre patch I was unable to do the “Rocketeer” quest later on because the game would go into the infinite loading state after I approached the guard)
I play the PC version of the game. At least with the new patch it seems impossible to return the bowl: There is E use -sign in the cave for it, but it just vanished permanently when i used the E key - nothing else happened and the bowl remained in my inventory. Later on, when I got back to the guard, he just shouted at me and attacked so I was forced to kill him. I didn’t get any hit on my reputation and the other guards at monastery seemed they couldn’t be less interested in what happened in this dark corner of monastery garden. On my first playthrough about a month ago I managed to return the bowl, so something has gone wrong with it since the new patch.
Well I couldn’t return the bowl before the latest patch (just like you’ve described) and I can’t do it now. But my questions is does the same thing happen when you give him the bone instead of the bowl (meaning if he still gets angry and attacks you). I’m wary of this quest now, since it made it impossible to finish the main quest (“Rocketeer”) before and I had to load an earlier save. I should probably just ingore it but the complitionist in me wants to see the quest through.
Was this fixed with 1.4? I didn’t see it in the patch notes but I have stopped playing until this has fixed because I don’t want to have to kill that guard
